Since we had no reservation on the island we went door to door to find accommodation. The island was full! Reluctantly we went to Surf Hostel who could accommodate us. 'Reluctantly', because we are (not a young) couple that just got married and a hostel was not our ideal. We were pleasantly surprised!||Not only was the place smartly organized, the many little details provided the needs of travelers that are lacking so often in other places, but the staff was also very friendly and very helpful. ||A family-run place, it provided the services (including breakfast) of a hotel with the warmth, personable, friendly hospitality of an AirBnB place. The youngest son of the owner was fluent in English.||The island itself though is a lost paradise. Beautiful, but continuously overcrowded with way too many tourists - day in, day out, 365 days a year. Not only do the locals exploit the visitors, but also the environment. Read moreThe 12-bed rooms scared us at first, but the rooms are build in a way that you don't really notice the other people around. You can have your privacy at all times. Bathrooms were always clean and I never had to wait to get in. The breakfast was hands down the best I had! For a hostel there was a lot of stuff to choose from: Different breads, cheese and ham, eggs and sausages, fruit and a cereals.|The community area is great, everyone sits together and it is easy to get to know others.|The best thing for me was the super nice staff. They were very friendly and helped where they could!||Two things I found negative:|- kitchen is tiny, not even enough room for 2 people|- the way up to the hostel is steap, sandy...
