Bewiki Floripa Centro — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Florianópolis

For Carnival 2025, I stayed at this hotel, which is a modern complex featuring a co-working space and a food court. The building itself looks new and well-designed, but there’s definitely room for improvement in terms of service, particularly at reception. Despite having three receptionists on duty, none of them spoke English, making communication difficult and requiring a translator or WhatsApp. Additionally, the staff didn’t come across as particularly welcoming.

While waiting at the pool and gym area, I requested a towel, but I was repeatedly told that there were none available for the pool. If this were a condo or an apartment with doormen, I could understand, but for a 4-star hotel with a pool, it seems reasonable to expect towels for guests.

Unfortunately, the pool itself was also quite dirty, so I ended up not using it at all—and I never got a towel anyway. If service continues at this level, it will be challenging for the hotel to attract international travelers, especially given the abundance of more affordable Airbnb options nearby, many of which also have pools. I also noticed some minor issues with the toilet and shower, but I’ll chalk those up to small oversights by housekeeping.

Thankfully, on the day of my checkout, Melina—who spoke excellent English—stepped in. She listened attentively, addressed my concerns, and provided great service, which finally made me feel heard. Thanks to her efforts, I’d consider returning to Bewiki...

New hotel so generally well maintained although cleaning and housekeeping not up to a good standard. My biggest issue is the check in process which is the worst I have ever experienced. This is the second time we have stayed here and both times, the miserable receptionist was nowhere to be seen. This time we waited 20 minutes for her to appear and when we said we had been waiting she simply replied “I had to make a personal hospital call”. No sorry or thanks for waiting. The lady that checked us in both times really shouldn’t be the first person you come into contact with when arriving at a hotel. She has no interest in the job, clearly doesn’t want to be there and doesn’t smile. The actual check in process is just terrible and far too long winded with you having to check in via WhatsApp. Everything is digital, which I’m all for, but isn’t it meant to speed up the whole process not slow it down? Room code for room 1508 was 15088 so not entirely sure how safe this is? The smaller rooms are very small and the bed not big enough for 2 people. Larger rooms are better but the place feels bare and empty. Rooms have no character and are basic. Aspectos para destacar: Muy buena ubicación, recomiendo alquilar las bicis electricas que se encuentran en la calle a media cuadra para recorrer el centro, cuenta con cocinas en la última planta donde podes hacerte la comida lo cual es muy comodo, cuenta con un almacén autoservicio donde podes comprar cosas, gimnasio bien equipado pero chico, no caben más de dos personas, en la planta baja hay varios restaurants con diferentes tipos de comida. Habitaciones pequeñas pero cómodas, baño muy lindo, cuenta con un sistema para abrir las puertas con contraseña, lo cual es muy bueno para no tener que llevar llave.

Aspectos a mejorar: Tuvimos varios problemas con el estacionamiento el cual no está incluido dentro del precio del hotel (la estadía se paga 40 realeas) es automático, pero no funciona bien, no lee bien la matricula, no funcionan las maquinas de pago, hay veces que haces el pago y aun así no te deja salir, los empleados muy amables nos ayudaron en todo momento, pero es muy molesto tener que ir a hablarles a cada rato en otro idioma para que te ayuden.

Tuvimos problemas un dia con el agua fría, y problemas con el baño, el servicio de limpieza no paso un día.

Los asensores funcionan con un sistema de reconocimiento facial que no funcionó durante unos días lo que nos hacía tener que subir por escalera (luego lo resolvieron)
