It was great, but it could have been much better without the issues.
Liked · We liked the staff, the location, the resort in general, specially the pools for adults and kids. Breakfast was good, but could be better if coffee was good. In fact, the coffee was terrible. We had a lot of issues at the beginning that were amended. I'll explain it better at "What didn't you like?" section. I'd like to commend specially Mr. Dalmar (Waiter) as he sorted out my bracelet issue that was deactivated, when it should be activated since the check-in and Michele Amanda (Guest Relations Supervisor) for providing us with some treats due the issues we had.
Disliked · Mabu Thermas Grand Resort complaint list: 50 minutes waiting in a cue for check-in (8 staff around doing nothing, 1 doing check out and only 1 doing check-in in a busy afternoon). Outrageous!; There was no crib in the bedroom, that was confirmed beforehand that it'd have one; I had to call hotel's landline to figure out reception's number. The QR code close to the phone led us to the WhatsApp and it took too long to figure out reception's number, so calling the landline was quicker. That was crazy!; Shower was too hot and dangerous for us and specially for our 1 and half year old baby, and too cold (temperamental) at the same time - It happened around 4 times in a 10 minutes shower for all of us (4 = myself, partner, daughter and mother); Air conditioning: a bit too cold + no remote control (I have to get up to change the temperature) + no blankets; Coffee at the breakfast was too bad. It was awful; Bracelet wasn't activated: when we were having a lunch at the first time in the hotel, we were going to get some beverages, but our NFC bracelets were not activated (3 of them), but I was told at the check-in they should be ready to be used. Detail, the restaurant we had this issue was located at the end of the resort, quite far from the reception, where we were recommended initially to go to resolve this issue. Thankfully, Mr. Dalmar sorted out our bracelets issue that were deactivated, when it should be activated since the check-in. Last, but no least: the time wasted complaining.
It is unacceptable that a hotel/resort with 4/5 stars had/having all these sort of issues. As a Brazilian living in Australia for 8 years, it is sad for me to see these issues happening. We need to attract more tourists, and not only from Brazil and South America, but all over the world and we need to show the best that we have.

Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights with our 5 year old. Overall an average hotel in a good location for visiting the Falls and nearby area.||Hotel is a large resort, very family orientated. In a great location, 15 mins drive to the National park entrance to visit the falls (one of the best experiences of my life) and opposite a shopping mall, which had a huge variety of food options. We eat here for lunch and also a dinner. Lots of major brands like BK and McDonald’s also which is handy. ||Overall rating of the hotel is based on a few aspects. Firstly cleanliness. Rooms were basic (as expected) but were quite worn (skirting board was hanging off in places) and the cleanliness of the swimming pool needs large improvement. It was clear from the grease and dirt build up during our stay as a lot of people were slipping over that the pools had not been cleaned in a long time. This urgently needs doing to improve standards, especially as a family hotel. On the plus side our son absolutely loved the pools (unfortunately the additional water park attached wasn’t open during our stay and when it was was limited to older kids rides which was disappointing)||Overall breakfast buffet was adequate. Basic food options but so many people. Again unfortunately there was a conference being held during our stay where there were around 300 additional guests so the hotel felt very loud and chaotic at times.||Customer service was ok but could be improved. Check in was quick but very limited info provided. We were left to work it out for ourselves due to the language barrier (totally no expectation that the staff should speak English, but maybe a map would be nice) ||Overall it was fine for the purpose of our trip. If you are looking for a quiet and Luxurious hotel then this is not for you. With improvements this could be a great family destination. Served a purpose as we were there purely for...
Read moreWhile the hotel has great potential and a lot of history, it suffers from poor management and a lot of issues that shouldn’t be present in a hotel of its level. Simply stated, there are much better hotels that focus on customer service and make money ensuring the best service will result in return customers. This hotel/resort doesn’t have this focus. Here, it appears to be more about saving a penny without the long term recognition that it will cost them a Dollar.||- dangerous hotel in many respects. They clean the floors and do not dry them. They are marble and any where else in the world would ensure dry floors. They literally wipe the floor down, put up a sign, and walk away without drying. We watched this numerous times and reported it. Nobody seems to care. I counter three total people that fell, one of which was my son.||- they sell you drinks for R$ 43 and the my put them into very small plastic cups full of ice with watered down alcolhol. You literally get three sips: The bar said that management tells them to do this when both myself and a couple by me complained. This is robbery and intentional deception.||- the hotel pays no attention to dangerous food allergies. The our other food right next to shell fish and people mix the serving spoons.||- there are two large windows with deep fracks four floors up and they have nothing protecting them or the people around both on the fourth floor or below. This was reported numerous times, again with zero resolution.||- good luck getting people to answer the phone. It doesn’t happen without numerous tries.||- management doesn’t resolve issues despite misleading promises to do so.||- the list is much more significant but you get the point.||If you wish to go to Blue Park, stay elsewhere. You will get better service, a safer environment, and more...
