Room descriptions we read said rooms were spacious but we thought our room (307) wasn't particularly large and was a bit basic, especially the bathroom (broken tiles/insect screen) it did however have a good shower - needs to be upgraded. Both doors to the balcony could not be locked (the locks were jammed) but managed to free them (with difficulty). The doors aren't double glazed and were flimsy and ill fitting so very draughty & a lot of wind noise - had to place suitcases against curtains to reduce this. The room was also a little dark (3 wall lights). Despite the criticisms, the room and king size bed were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. On top floor with nice sea views from balcony at high tide (see below). Rooms on the ground floor seemed larger.||||Check-in was quick & staff were very helpful even if little English was spoken.||||Plenty of sun loungers in the grassed area by the beach & uncrowded - easy access to beach & town at low tide. The view at low tide isn't great as a reef that is close to the beach is exposed.||||Restaurant, bar & lounge very pleasant. Afternoon tea was included as was the buffet breakfast - both provided a good selection of food. Dinner was very nice.||||Praia da Forte - the 'village' is about a ten minute stroll but was difficult to find initially as the signage was inadequate. Praia da Forte is also not a village in the true sense but a purpose built area with numerous restaurants/bars/shops to support the large tourist development of numerous apartments, etc. - it also lacks character - we were disappointed as we were expecting something more 'Brazilian' but this was probably our fault for not researching it more.||||Overall, a good place to stay for a few days in the sun but be aware of the...
