Pousada Ilha do Frade — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata do Recife

Beautiful and spotlessly clean rooms, some with patios/balconies which we thoroughly enjoyed. Great breakfast. Cecilia and her staff are very helpful and sweet (note though that they hardly speak any English). The location is a bit off or not quite where we expected - it's 25-30mins to walk to the beach, though only 5-10mins to restaurants and small markets. WiFi works quite well, however they were a bit fussy at the beginning about giving out the password - that itself is not an issue, but free WiFi should not be advertised if they are not willing to provide it without much discussion. ||Fernando de Noronha is not cheap so you will pay more for this place than similar ones elsewhere in Brazil, but overall this is very good choice, if you don't mind walking to the beach for a bit (or rent a buggy to get there!). Had a second opportunity to go to Fernando de Noronha for a great friend's wedding and this time I was recomended Pousada Ilha do Frade by my friends who had stayed there previously and go every year to Noronha. ||||Patricia and Cecilia are very caring and offer great service. I immediately felt welcome and home. We were lucky to get a suite on the back of the hotel, facing the ocean. (not close, but still there was a view). The room and bathroom were always very clean, and the water always warm.||||Breakfast was an occasion on its own. Tapioca was served daily to your wish sweet or salty, and one of the best coffees ever.||||Will definitely return.......

At first we we're welcomed, but after 2 days the problems started.||The shower did not work well, lot of noise in the room. We rented the diving equipment and the landlady charged us the full price of a mask, since she told we broke it, which was not true. The hotel is overpriced for what they offer. Tak care about the place they offer for shuttle and other events to the beaches. They charge too high, and sometimes do not care about customers.
