Granada Hotel — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata do Rio de Janeiro

Overall, America’s Granada Hotel is located in the great area of Lapa, a wonderful way of immersing yourself with the locals, the nightlife’s, and the surroundings itself. Staying at Granada Hotel offer all the amenities that a tourist such as myself from the United States of America could ask for. Standard wise, of course some could be improved, such as bathroom upkeeps, however those unmet needs could be fixed if you ask nicely with the receptionist foremost because they can communicate with the staff better in fulfillment of requests.

Granada Hotel is a nice welcoming place to stay at when vacationing in Rio de Janeiro. Be open to enjoying what the country has to offer because it is a vacation after all. All the frustrations, problems other tourists encountered could be fixed with a simple kindly request, after all you chose to visit their country in the first place, not the locals.

So be open to the unknown and be gentle with your approach with the locals wherever you travel, because after all you represent your country when you start acting up just because some of your experiences and expectations were not met. After all, vacation is about search into the unknown, and I hope your experience will be at best and well intended when all is done and over with.

I used to really like this place. It was cheap, convenient, clean and comfortable. That’s no longer the case. Not only is it double the price, in my most recent visit my room was filthy upon arrival- the towels were stained, parts of the shower unclean and pillows with stains. The next day I asked for a cleaning first thing in the morning, yet still the towels were stained but the bedding was much better. Seems like they don’t throw away things when they get worn out. I doubt I’d return.

I had a big issue with my room key, when checking-in I saw others had the same issue. My last night here I went back down at least 3x until he sent someone with me to come with me upstairs to let me in manually. He attempted to open the wrong door even though I was trying to explain to him that it wasn’t my room. Later I realized that all of my previous keys were still active.

Otherwise, the rooms are pretty modern, a/c is strong and the shower pressure is strong with very warm water. The TV in the room is large and smart.

Unfortunately the only thing that was great is the location, because the room, the breakfast and the service was not good at all. In the room the air conditioner was very old and had a lot of mold in it making the room a very smelly, the breakfast was missing a lot of food and for them to restock it took a lot of time and the service, there was none, they would not provide towels for you to take to the sauna/gym/pool you will need to use the one you use after the shower and it is only 1 per day. Also, there was one day of no water at all in the hole hotel, and when we asked if they have any information to provide, the front desk employee said that he doesn’t know because he is not responsible to get that type of information, we need to contact the maintenance guy, but no one answered, and it was on...
