Rio Lapa Inn is a totally different hostelling experience. On the second floor of a lovely tall, yellow house on one of the coolest roads in Lapa, staying at Rio Lapa Inn feels like a cross between renting your own loft-apartment and staying at a hostel. The bunks are super comfortable and, with the curtain, shelf and electrical socket, feel very private, and the living space is warm, cosy and welcoming. This isn’t a party hostel, so you can go out drinking and dancing until whatever time, but you’ll be pretty much guaranteed a good sleep when you get back to Rio Lapa Inn. As cheesy as it sounds, it really doesn’t feel like a hostel. It feels like home.||||But what makes this place special, and he’ll hate me saying this, is the owner, Humberto. This space used to be his photography studio and his personality reverberates throughout the hostel and Lapa itself! I only intended to stay in Lapa for one night but ended up staying nearly a week because Humberto seemed to know exactly when I needed to do my own thing, and when I felt like discovering the nooks and crannies of Lapa that guidebooks won’t tell you about. He is kind, warm, and funny, and one of the most hospitable hostel owners/managers I have ever met. I have no doubt that when I return to Rio, this will be my first port of call.||||Rio Lapa Inn makes you feel like you’ve lived in Rio, rather than just passed through it. Even if you only stay for one night....
Read moreMy stay with Humberto and Juliana was fantastic. I usually don't leave reviews but as a new hostel, these guys deserve a shout out. ||||It's a small hostel (we were no more than 5 guests, though they have have I think 20 beds) in a quiet area of lapa, only a 5 minute walk from the action (and thankfully also a 5 minute stumble home).||||The place is quiet - it's not designed for parties (though don't sell alcohol etc), the beds comfortable and new. The breakfast is also fresh and tasty. ||||Humberto was very friendly from the beginning, offering a refreshing drink on arrival, given me the rundown of the area and all the advice i could need. He even gave me plasters and creams after a fall and several mosquito bites. ||||He's the owner and is very passionate, consistently making improvements to ensure his guests have the best stay possible. ||||If you want peace and quiet in the middle of crazy rio, with mega friendly hosts, this is the...
Read moreHumberto e a Ju entenderam bem a frase "RECEBER É UMA ARTE, HOSPEDAR É QUASE UM DOM!". SUPER...
