Guest Rooms Granat — Hotel in Bansko

I've stayed at this place in January 2021, and was so disappointed that I cut my trup short. The location is superb, just less than 1 minute walking to the Gondola ski lift. This is the best advantage about this place, but this is all about it has to offer. All other impression with this place are negative. For just a little bit more money I could have stayed at a premium place that would shuttle me to the ski lift. My experience with this property is negative due to the following reasons 1) Customer service - what's that? The owner was extremely rude and condescending to me. Prior coming to this place, I wanted to change my dates, the owner did nothing and said I will be stayed in full. Finally, I've arrived and stayed 2 days shorter, he would not refund even a penny. I got surcharged for a parking, although nobody told me about the cost. 2) The room I got was filthy. Switches in the room were sticky, dust uncleaned, there was peanuts on the floor - I had to wipe up everything with alcohol. Did not feel sanitized nor safe. 3) The beds are uncomfortable, springs are broken, they definitely need to be replaced. 4) The drain in the shower is clothed, when you shower there is a pool of water for about half an hour there. 5) No amenities whatsoever, roof windows. 6) They cancelled my booking on booking.com (which I've used to book this place) such that they would not pay commission. Due to this I'm not able to leave feedback on booking.com, and I was advised to leave it here instead. For the money paid (and I've stayed at other places in Bansko), this is absolutely NOT worth my money. Very disappointed and will NOT stay again...

Avoid.

Pros: Location was convenient as being right next to the gondola. It is an advantage if you are an avid skier. Clean room as the cleaning lady did her job properly every day

Cons: Location of the room itself: being next to Pirin street was extremely noisy because of the cars, all the time, even at night when almost every night drunken people would sometimes shout right under our window. During our stay, someone even broke the door handle of the main entrance. Room 106 was awful, unlike in the property pictures. Very cheap and broken furniture. The walls were dirty, in some places broken and punctured. The carpet was torn apart because of high usage. The bathroom had no separation for a shower, so all the water would go in a central drain that was poorly placed so the bathroom floor would always get flooded. There also was a mechanical timed power relay that would constantly tick very loudly. The lighting was very poor. The beds were the worst: very cheap spring mattresses that took 2-3 days to get used to, and the bed structure was kind of broken making all kinds of noises. Pillows were among the worst I have ever used in my life: just a bunch of cotton stuffed in a cloth that would get really flat really fast. So sleep was very poor as we were waking up several times every night. Staff was unhelpful as we requested to be moved to another room, and promised to get back to us...

This was probably the worst holiday experience I've ever had. The place is situated right next to the gondola which is useful. This also means that it is almost impossible to get a good night's sleep because of the heavy traffic and the people shouting loud at night. The building is not soundproof which meant that every morning we could hear the tap from the room next door. The cleaning lady does a thorough job but our room was old and the carpet was torn. We also found a hole in one of the walls and one socket seemed to have been plucked out of the wall. The beds were not at all comfortable as we could feel the springs through the cheap low quality mattresses. We asked the administrator/receptionist if we could change rooms explaining that we had not been able to sleep the previous night and he promised he would give us a call the following day which he never did. The pictures showed on the booking site we used had nothing in common with the room we were actually given. They charged almost 900 EUR for seven nights which given the circumstances is a lot more than what this place deserves. I will never come...
