Emerald Spa Hotel — Hotel in Bansko

I would give negative stars if I could! We had an awful experience with the hotel manager at this hotel. If you are looking at staying here, have a look at staying in the private apartments (Simonen) instead - they are in the same building. |We stayed in the apartments and the host was great. We had checkout at 12pm, but we weren’t leaving until 2:30pm and wanting to get some skiing in before we left so asked if there was somewhere we could keep our luggage, the host suggested to ask the hotel reception if there was somewhere we could keep it. We asked the day before and they said that it is not a problem, we can keep it next to reception.|The next day, we got up really early to sort our luggage storage and have enough time to get to the gondola before the queues got too big. We went to put our luggage where they told us and a lady came and asked for our room number. We said we don’t know it but we were staying in the apartments. She said well you can’t keep your luggage here, it is only for hotel guests. We said we had asked reception the day before and they said it’s okay, if they had told us no then we would have had enough time to sort something else, but now we have nowhere to put it. She said well that’s not my problem, I am telling you now that you can’t leave it! Even though we were staying in the same building and the staff had told us the night before that we could leave it, she would not let us. The hotel was not busy at all (I can now see why!) and there was plenty of space for our stuff (in fact our luggage was the only ones there!). She spoke to us horribly and would not help us at all. Just because we were not hotel guests (even though we were in the same building!), she wouldn’t let us leave our luggage. This is without doubt the worst Hotel I have ever stayed in. It was so dark and dismal, they had removed bulbs to reduce running costs. Everything was closed, apparently due to the pandemic, which was 5 years ago, in case you didn't know! They didn't advertise a restaurant or pool, but they didn't say what condition it was in either. Everything was dropping to bits. The fridge didn't work, we had to ask for a kettle, drawer fronts were dropping off when opened The 3 plates, cutlery and solitary saucepan all needed cleaning. The beds were terribly uncomfortable, the carpet threadbare. There was not a plug for the sink or bath. The lift could be heard groaning noisily across the corridor, if you dared get in it! The WiFi was useless, which cost us data. The main front door didn't operate, we had to use a side door. Lydia on reception was nice enough, but we only saw her on arrival and checking out. We never saw any other staff in the hotel, although our room was made up every day. It must have been Lydia!! Hello to everyone out there, my name is Rei and I was for a week at Emerald Spa Hotel Bansko.||Is literally the worst hotel I ever stayed they are the scammest place ever.No gym, no restaurant , no sauna, no swimming pool, only when you do the booking it doesn't say that, then when you go there, they will tell you everything is close unfortunately is not open ect.The cleaners was very professional and good people, the guy who was working at the reception was trying to convince us, like is the Covid-19 thing and stuff and when I said to him why you not say that online tho and he said they haven't updated the site and stuff really unbelievable. Another thing was the sleeping bed I specifically ask for a double bed room and they give me two single beds and on top of that they was the worst bed I ever slept in my life, sometimes I slept on the couch. The elevation didn't even work.The worst place absolutely worthless and 100% will never visit that place again.
