With any review, I always aim to be objective and consider value for money. As a family of 5 (+2 with my eldest and her partner in their own room) our primary objective was to get to the mountains to ski/snowboard on a bit of a budget, so considering we only really wanted a hotel for its room and locality, this ticked the boxes for us. We had a two bedroom apartment, with small lounge with fold out bed (which my eldest son used for his bedroom). Plus had a reasonable size shower room with toilet and separate toilet. This was adequate for us all. |The apartment was comfortable and functional.|- each room had a balcony off of it which served well for fresh air and extra storage to air equipment. |We had self service breakfast included which again was adequate and with good choices. Something for everyone. We dined at the hotel twice, which, again, considering value for money, we couldn’t complain. £60-70 for x7 of us to eat, drink and a bottle of wine. Wife and I had the fish which we thought was good. |There is a shuttle bus that runs too and from the gondola in the morning and afternoon. We typically got the bus in to town, and then walked back later after dropping ski stuff off and enjoying some apres. About a 10-15 minute walk from the center which was fine for us. |Added bonuses after a day on the mountain was pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room which are all included. Could do with a refresh on the decor but again, all functional and helped the joints. |Service wise, reception was friendly and efficient. |Initially, the manager (I suspect the owner) who ran the restaurant came across quite cold (not particularly friendly, although after a couple of days of effort, I think he warmed to us and we definitely cracked a smile on at least 2 occasions. Our experience was that the Bulgarian men (in Bansko at least) can be quite stern and seemingly not particularly friendly. I think this is cultural. Of course, could just be us. 🤗 (we try hard to be friendly and courteous). |So, so sum up, the hotel offers good value for money, a reasonable location, reasonably priced food and service. It’s practical...

Read moreI wouldn't ever recommend the place. I stayed for couple of days with my partner. Included was spa, breakfast. The breakfast seemed old like it's from yesterday, it was apatite killer (dry sausages, ham, cheese etc etc). There was NO spa. Well there was a djakuzi which some guest decided to use as their personal bath, and they used their soaps etc inside, big no no. Also the pool was filled with screaming jumping children all the time so it was impossible to stay there, the staff does nothing about that. Furthermore, there is room service list in the rooms. I called for room service and made and order, which was not very easy process by the way. They said they took my order but it didn't come at all. I asked them what's up with my order and they said there is NO room service. And there is NO room service there, could at least tell me instead of telling me it's on the way. They don't even sell any snacks or drinks during the night in case you need, no kettle in the room as well... The bar and restaurant do not take cards, you can't apply the bill to your room, and there is no ATM inside or anywhere near by. The staff of the bar and restaurant does not know, what hospitality is. The room door was barely hanging, seemed unsafe. What else, shower cabin door was not closing, they were not even aware of the issue. No tollews in the bathroom. They said there is NO food allowed in the rooms :D... whatever... and I think if I stayed there longer I would have more to share. Well, that's from me, never would go...
