Just returned from a week at the Hotel Lina. They actually market themselves as a guest house more than a hotel and that's a more accurate description really. The rooms were a good size and clean and tidy. Furniture was a little sparse our room could have done with a chest of drawers not just a wardrobe but it wasn't the end of the world. Our bin was emptied daily and we did receive fresh towels midweek and a quick room clean. The rooms also had wifi with a good signal. There was only one other guest there so they weren't rushed off their feet but the owners were polite and helpful and although the husbands english was very limited the wife spoke it well.||||Breakfast was cereals, toast and then a plate of cheese, ham and eggs or cheese and ham on toast or eggy bread. Tea was herbal and there are no tea making facilities in the room so you may want to take a travel kettle if you miss your PG Tips! They helpfully moved breakfast forward an hour to allow us to get to the gondola before 8. ||||Evening meal was a very large salad followed by a meat and rice or potato dish. If you are a picky eater this is something to bear in mind, there is no choice, although the food was always well cooked and tasty home style cooking you could feel awkward sending it all back. The hotel was however no more expensive than many self catering apartments so cost isn't a factor.||||There is a shuttle bus that will stop at the hotel around 8ish to take you to the gondola for 2 lev per person, but we wanted to make sure we were there early to get some empty slopes in before the crowds arrived (it was half term week in the UK, Romania Greece etc) so we got a taxi at 7.30 which was between 5 and 7 levs depending on the driver and took five minutes.||||Overall hotel Lina is modern value for money no frills accommodation. If you want luxury rooms, a la carte menus, saunas etc then it's probably not for you. If you are there to see the country or for skiing and want to keep costs down it is...
Read moreHad recently come back from Bansko. Stayed 6 nights in Hotel Lina. It's a modest small hotel located in the living sector of the town. Takes a 25 minutes walk to the gondola station and 15 mins to the old town. Nevertheless, if you want to save money and are not looking for swimming pools, spa centers and assertiveness feel free to choose it.||||The hotel itself is very nice and clean. Rooms are average sized, beds are comfortable, the owners are friendly and polite. Breakfasts are modest as there is no buffet. You get tea, bread & butter, sometimes cheese or wiener, some vegetables, jam and honey, and eggs in various forms. But that was always enough.||||During our stay towels and linen were never changed. Trash was removed on a daily basis.||You won't get bathrobe and flip-flops, so better take yours. Same about soap, shampoo, shower gel - one per person for a whole stay.||||You can ask the landlord for a transfer to gondola and back. The price is BGN 3.||||Ski rent is BGN 8 per day at Tsakiris. Best food and best prices at La Skara. Best exchange rates at Piraeus Bank at the Mall.||||All in all, I'm happy about the choice and the...
