We made a reservation for 8 nights and initially booked a standard room. After confirming the reservation, we received an email stating that the hotel only accepts pets weighing less than 8 kilograms. We reached out to request an exception since our dog weighs 18 kilograms. The hotel agreed but required us to upgrade to a larger, more expensive room. Considering they were willing to make an exception, we upgraded. Upon arrival, the receptionist informed us that dogs of our dog’s size were not allowed, despite the prior agreement. We had also paid for parking and mentioned that our car was parked in front of the hotel since we couldn’t access the parking lot without another car being moved. The receptionist was very rude until a colleague assisted us with parking. Later, she confirmed that she found the messages approving our dog’s stay but told us we’d have to wait an hour to get our room. Both she and her colleague repeatedly made sarcastic comments about our dog being 8 kilograms, even though we never implied that she was. When we returned to check in, they insisted that one of us had to stay in the room with the dog because there were children who might want to play with her, even though we never left her unattended. They also informed us that if we wanted to bring our dog to the breakfast area, which we paid for, we had to sit outside, as far away as possible from other guests. Every time we were in the reception area with our dog, the staff would stop what they were doing and follow us, as if expecting the dog to cause trouble. On the third day, as we were leaving the hotel, Darya, one of the receptionists, loudly announced that they couldn’t clean our room that day because the cleaning staff was afraid of the dog. We informed her that the room had, in fact, been cleaned that morning and that our dog is always with us, never left alone in the room. She never apologized for causing a scene. The following day, we left the hotel around 8:30 am and returned around 2:00 pm, only to find that the room had not been cleaned. We went to the reception to inquire about it and requested clean towels at the very least. They said cleaning was done until 3:30 pm and promised to send someone with towels. After waiting for 30 minutes without any towels being delivered, we returned to the reception. The staff once again claimed they couldn’t clean the room because they were afraid of the dog. We reiterated that the dog is never alone in the room and emphasized that we needed the towels. After another 10 minutes of waiting, they finally brought us the towels. We left the room again with our dog at around 4:00 pm and returned at 8:00 pm, only to find that the room still hadn’t been cleaned. Our dog is very well-trained, friendly, and good with children. I expressed to the reception staff that their behavior was disrespectful and that if they claim to be pet-friendly, they should act like it. However, they ignored my concerns and never apologized for their...
Read moreAntisemitism, yelling at older people, air conditioners that don't work, really, really bad food. Unfortunately, somehow the hotel has a good rating on Booking, I have attached some of the reviews from Google. I wish I had known in advance that the hotel was so bad and anti-Semitic Please do yourself a favor and don't go there. Keeps his soul away. Attached is my full story I booked a hotel for 8 days from 07.08.24 to 07.15.24 My stay was with my son, me and him alone After 3 days of staying at the hotel The air conditioner in the room broke down, I asked the staff to send a technician, it was 33 degrees outside. The hotel announced that there was no technician. I went downstairs and there were other people who were in the hotel who complained like me that the air conditioner was not working in their room and as far as the hotel is concerned, they will manage like this until morning. I asked to speak to a manager and he said he would send a technician, I waited until 12 at night and the technician didn't come, but what the owner of the hotel did was cancel my reservation that I made from booking and wanted to evict me from the room on the grounds that I was complaining about the air conditioner not working?! Would you believe it?! I promise I did not shout or raise my voice, yes I was insolent because they expect me and my son who is 7 years old to sleep at 33 degrees without air conditioning or a fan. In any case, I did not agree to vacate at such a time of night and called the police. After the policeman talked to them they agreed to keep me in the room. I must mention that I saw Israelis being yelled at in a shameful and humiliating way, there was an elderly woman who took water and the moldy kitchen screamed, it hurt me to see, my son grew up in a good education and claimed that he had never seen so much yelling in his life. In addition, there is an Israeli guy who works in the Mahon team and probably markets them, according to the other Israelis who saw the situation, he is a serious hater of Israelis and they were also hurt by him. On the last day, the hotel claimed that in the end it would not receive money from booking and therefore asked me to pay again, As far as I'm concerned, Booking didn't send me any notification, so I didn't want to pay again, Which resulted in violence towards me from the older Israeli guy who works in the hotel staff. My son started crying and the whole situation was a hallucination that an older guy maybe in his 70s was hitting me. Out of respect for him I didn't reply or say anything. In the end, for my health and that of my son, I paid twice and ran away. Again writing this to avoid heartache for others For me it pretty much ruined the trip and left a scar on Bulgaria in general. Have a...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for two weeks, and honestly, it was a huge disappointment.
Let’s start with the restaurant: one of the women working there was extremely rude and even judged us for what we chose to eat. Completely unprofessional. When I asked at the reception if the restaurant was open (it’s literally right next to them), the receptionist looked over and said yes. We sat down — only to be told by the waitress that it was actually closed. Apparently, opening hours here are decided on a whim.
Housekeeping is basically nonexistent. We left a “please clean” sign on the door — someone came in, dropped off a few towels, and that was it. No cleaning at all. The bed itself was okay, but the sheet was way too small and kept coming off during the night.
The air conditioning doesn’t cool the room — it heats it. There were no toiletries provided except for a tiny dispenser of liquid soap. We also asked for an extra blanket, but were told they didn’t have any.
Breakfast was fine, nothing special. Most of the staff seemed untrained and uninterested, with one exception — a young waiter with short hair who was genuinely kind and professional.
Dinner, on the other hand, was a mess. We ordered Caesar dressing three times on different nights — twice we got mayonnaise instead. The menu kept getting shorter every day, and my carbonara was served in a plastic container, clearly microwaved. There’s also an older waitress in the evenings who is incredibly unpleasant — she actually interrupted us mid-bite to ask if we were paying by card. She’s passive-aggressive and rude.
The drinks were questionable, too — the Fanta and Sprite had strange bits floating in them. The mayo tasted like nothing, and sometimes there was no ketchup at breakfast at all.
Technical issues everywhere: • Light switches turn on 2–3 lamps at once, never just one. • The mosquito net is useless — they still get in. • The TV looks like it’s from the 1800s. • The safe doesn’t work. • The bidet hose next to the toilet is broken. • The elevators malfunction constantly. • In the lobby restroom, the light turns off every 20 seconds — you literally have to wave your arms to keep it on.
And when you open the window in your room, cigarette smoke pours in from people smoking on the balconies below.
Bottom line: This hotel could have potential, but the management is chaotic, and most of the staff clearly need proper training. The only positives were the breakfast and that one friendly waiter — everything else was a...
