Our recent week-long stay at MPM Kalina Garden left much to be desired. While a few positives stood out, they were overshadowed by numerous and significant negatives, leading to overall dissatisfaction and regret regarding our hotel choice.
On the positive side, we appreciated the regular cleaning of common areas and the friendly restaurant staff, making dining a pleasant experience. Additionally, the hotel's central location proved convenient for exploring the area.
However, the negatives cast a dark cloud over our stay. The reception staff's shocking arrogance and unwelcoming attitude set an unfavorable tone from the beginning.
The incessant blaring of animation music, even with closed windows, made relaxation and restful sleep nearly impossible, giving us the feeling of being trapped in a never-ending disco.
Despite claims of being family-friendly, MPM Kalina Garden fell short in this regard. The inadequate elevators forced us to navigate stairs with a stroller, causing inconvenience and safety concerns.
Disappointingly, a substantial number of guests, mainly from Russia and Romania, exhibited rude behavior, including stealing food from the buffet and showing no respect for occupied sunbeds. Our daughter's floating ring disappeared without any resolution from the hotel staff.
The dining options were subpar, and the repetitive buffet offerings were more akin to a budget hotel than a supposed four-star establishment. The snack bar's limited selection and long queues for pizza left us feeling unsatisfied throughout our seven-day stay.
The hotel's star rating was questionable, as it failed to live up to four-star standards and barely met the expectations of a three-star hotel.
The continuous loud music until 22:30 each night, featuring the same repetitive playlist, further detracted from our ability to relax and enjoy our evenings.
Furthermore, the lenient smoking policy, allowing smoking in all outdoor areas, including the pool and dining spaces, created an uncomfortable and unhealthy environment, particularly for families with children.
The early morning rush to reserve loungers, coupled with the slippery pool area, posed safety hazards, leading to nasty falls for several children, including myself.
One of the most disappointing aspects was the lack of proper room cleaning, with our room receiving cleaning services only once in seven days, an unacceptable oversight for any hotel rating.
In conclusion, our stay at MPM Kalina Garden left us deeply dissatisfied. The combination of loud music, rude guests, inadequate facilities, and overall poor service makes us wary of ever returning to this hotel. We strongly caution others, especially families with young children, against choosing this hotel for their holiday. It fails to meet expectations and does not live up to the four-star claims. Our future holidays will undoubtedly be...
Read moreThis is our second stay at this hotel.
This year, the rooms are cleaner, the ceilings have been updated, and the air conditioning system with a thermostat is new. The staff is great, except for the restaurant manager, who acts like the “Gestapo” and doesn’t allow you to take your coffee from the restaurant to the lobby bar.
However, something went wrong with the restaurant this year, even though it’s off-season. During peak hours, it’s a complete mess: not a single free table, or if there is one — it’s dirty. There are no clean glasses at the bar, and the queues for food are huge. The kitchen can’t keep up. And to top it all off, seagulls can easily steal your food.
You clearly need more staff to handle the number of guests. Or — as harsh as it may sound — introduce time slots for visiting the restaurant to avoid overcrowding. For example, at 19:00 it’s chaos, but by 19:30 everything is calm again. How to guess the right time? Only God knows.
This issue is especially noticeable from Friday to Sunday, most likely when weekend guests arrive. This evening, everything described above happened to us, and a seagull actually ruined our dinner — which we had waited in line so long to get. Please assign someone to keep animals away from the restaurant area.
This really spoils the overall impression of the hotel. We’ve been patient for 9 days, but today was the last straw. Last year, during the high season, none of these problems existed.
I’m giving a rating of 4, hoping you’ll take steps to improve the situation. I’d really love to enjoy the last two days of my vacation...
Read moreWe spent two weeks at MPM Kalina Garden and overall, we are very pleased with our stay. The staff was friendly and the service was of a high standard, which really contributed to a positive experience.
That said, there were a few things we felt could be improved — mainly regarding organization and the general atmosphere.
Dining experience: It was often unclear how the food lines were supposed to work, which led to crowding and occasional frustration among guests. Better signage or a more structured system for collecting food would greatly improve the experience.
Noise levels: As a family with a young child, we found it difficult to get our child to sleep before 11 PM due to loud music playing until then every night. In general, the music was too loud and not always suited to the occasion — for example, it would have been more pleasant with softer lounge music (or no music at all) during dinner.
Pool area: The sunbeds were unfortunately very hard and uncomfortable. We also noticed that the area around the pool was quite slippery — we saw several children slip and hurt themselves. Another downside was that the pool water was very cold, even on days with temperatures above 30°C, which made it hard to enjoy swimming.
Despite these points, we had a nice holiday thanks to the good service and the overall welcoming atmosphere. With some improvements in sound levels, pool safety, and better organization during meals, the experience could be...
