This is apartment hotel – not a typical hotel. It means that the whole complex is composed of apartments (various size), which are owned usually by private owners. As I have recognized, there are three ways to book apartment: (1) directly from the owner, (2) directly from the complex management, (3) from a few global Internet booking companies. I have decided to book directly from the complex management. The most important advantage for me was that is something happens (for example shower collapse, problem with water outflow in the bathroom, need to change bulb), I was sure that I would get proper assistance without any delay. Additionally, I knew when making booking how often the apartment would be cleaned, towels and bed linens changed. This is for me worth to pay even slightly more than in the case of booking directly from the owner. In the case when booking from the owner or global booking company it is worth to clarify in advance such details to be sure about the cleaning (it can happen that no cleaning is offered during the stay) and procedure if technical problems in apartment appear. In the case of my booking I have got even more frequent cleaning and towels / bed linens change that I was promised.||The complex is located in the middle of the way from Sunny Beach centre and Old Neseber There are 300 meters to the bus stops(price 1 Lv) or small road “train” (price 3 Lv) to get there.||The supermarket ZORA (one of the biggest in the area) is next to the complex gate.||The walking distance to the beach is about 600 meters. Sun beds and umbrellas can be booked, each peace costs 8Lv (no time limit). If you don’t book at least one peace (umbrella or sun bed), you have to keep your belongings or use private umbrella in the places slightly far from the sea (outside official sun beds area).||The guests are asked not to play sound music after 11 pm and to be quiet after midnight. So it is a very good place for the people who want to sleep in then night. Also no loud music from the restaurant which is located on the ground level. Restaurant is a good place for a rest during a day – there are tables outside (but all the day in the shadow) and inside (a/c is usually switched on). We ate there just a small dishes during the day, but to eat the main meal we went to Bistro Sarov (local restaurant opened the whole year), located 300 meters from the complex, next to the bus stop (direction Neseber) – very good dishes (also large selection) , prices lower than in any other restaurant in the area.||The complex is clean, what is important especially in the case of corridors and pool area. The pool area is cleaned every day in the morning. Also the pool was clean.||The pool was not crowded, it is rather big comparing to other pools in the area. The depth is 1,20 m in any part of the pool. There is also a small “pool” for children (depth 40 cm). I stayed there 3 weeks with my family. In July it was possible to find sun bed any time of the day. In August the situation has changed and it was very difficult to find it after 9 am. I don’t know why. May be more guests arrived? There are also some umbrellas available (as I remember 8) – usually occupied very early. Sun beds are slightly hard as there are no mattresses. ||We have booked two bedrooms apartment + living room with kitchen area and washing machine + two bathrooms. And there was three a/c devices – so not only in the living room but also in each bedroom. This was very good apartment to relax in comfortable conditions.||The WiFi is free in the lobby (very small and in the evening usually all seats occupied) and in the restaurant. To have WiFi in the room it was necessary to pay – the fee was 30Lv for 2 weeks and 40Lv for 4 weeks. It was slow, so enough to check mailbox or read new but no possibility to watch movies...
Read moreDay 5 staying in this excuse for a hotel. I'll be sad to leave Sunny Beach in 2 days, but not Royal Dreams.|Where do I start?|Positives - very few. Large apartment and first impressions appeared cleanish.|That's about it for the positives.|Beds uncomfortable and only one wafer thin pillow per person. Had to use the spare duvets as pillows and was horrified to find one had bloodstains on it.|Pillows were eventually supplied but not with pillow cases.|As advised in reception Floors will be swept on day 3 and day 6. No clean linen or towels until day 6.|Curtain rail fell down in the middle of the night. Was fixed next morning but didn't bother cleaning up the dust until the evening, and only after I had to go to reception to complain. Then noticed footprints all over sofa bed where maintenance had climbed on it to fix rail, again another trip to reception.|Balcony rail looked like it was ready to fall off. Plastic furniture on balcony was broken. Damp patches on ceilings, cobwebs, broken sofa bed, chipped cups.....I could go on!!!|Cleaning staff extremely rude and intimidating due to the fact that one towel had got a bit dirty with a bit of dye coming out of my wife's hair and wanted 20 lev for us to pay for a replacement. This is a hotel and these things happen - deal with it. |As someone who knows how to look after swimming pools, in my opinion the pool water is filthy (see the picture of the dirty mark just above the water line). We used the beach and neighbouring hotel pool. Pool pumps are never running so filters cannot keep the pool water clean.|Swim up pool bar is a joke. Don't be fooled by the pictures on websites - it's derelict and unsafe. Have a look at my picture of it.|The lady who dealt with my complaint wasn't interested in anything apart from me paying for a dirty towel. ||On a positive note. Sunny beach is a lively and vibrant resort and Nessabar is lovely. ||However, if you want to holiday in sunny Beach avoid this hotel...
Read more9 of us went to Bulgaria for our summer holiday for a week and after reading some reviews I was nervous to say the least! We arrived at 2am to be greeted by one of the groundsmen who took us up to our apartments and although he spoke very little English he communicated all that he needed to at that hour and was extremely pleasant! The apartments were clean and well presented and although one of the rooms didn't have a kettle it was a good excuse for them to pay us a visit in the morning! The staff were very friendly and helpful and when we had a problem with a water leek it was fixed right away with no bother. The pool was lovely and clean and although a bit cold as not heated provided entertainment for our 2 year old for a day! The pub/restaurant on site was ok but there are lots of lovely places to eat around the area! Royal dreams is perfect for any type of holiday as there is so much to do and see in and around the area there was a lovely little train to take you into nessebar or sunny beach! And if you ask the locals you will find some hidden gems that are amazing value for money! Be sure to visit the step and the shack for phenomenal food at...
