Hotel Via Serdika — Hotel in Sofia City

I am glad I found Hotel Via Serdika while searching randomly because it turned out to be a real gem! The hotel is close to major transport links, yet within easy walking distance of the centre, where you can explore the iconic sights of Sofia. The building is new, modern, and spotlessly clean. The rooms are spacious and contemporary. They are well appointed with tea- and coffee-making facilities and complimentary water. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, and we had a great night’s sleep. The shower was powerful, and the toiletries smelled absolutely wonderful. There is a very pleasant vibe there!

Breakfast was excellent, offering both continental options and delicious traditional Bulgarian food. On different mornings we enjoyed freshly baked banitsa, meats like lukanka and authentic Bulgarian cheeses. Absolutely delicious!

The staff were outstanding – very friendly, attentive, and we felt welcoming. From housekeeping to reception, every single person we met was helpful and kind.

I recently stayed for three days and I must say I am disappointed because the rooms and parking were quite nice. But the problems started to appear. When we arrived we were informed that the restaurant was in renovations and there was no breakfast posibility. This was not mentioned when we made the reservation. When we arrived in the room there was a thick layer of dust on surfaces, there was hair on the shower wall, the complimentary branded water bottles were full but with broken seals, there were no slippers (we had to ask even though they were mentioned as available) After the first day no one came to do the room, the trashbins were still full from the previous day, the beds were not made, the room was not aired. We talked about it and they said the roomis not cleaned daily in their hotel, but on booking.com "daily room cleaning" was clearly stated. The next day after we told the reception that we wanted out room cleaned and put up the sign, the only thing they did was to take the trash out.
