Booking Process: ||We found the hotel via Bookings.com as we wanted to change our hotel mid visit - having viewed the price we were happy to commit but checked their Instagram and website just prior to making the reservation to find they were $70 cheaper to book direct with them via their own website so make sure you do your research. A number of messages were exchanged via Social Media and it was all booked. Very friendly and quick to respond. ||Transport: ||As we were already in Siem Reap we only need to get a tuktuk to get to the hotel however they do offer a pick up service to/from the airport for $35 each way - taking the stress and hassle away from trying to make your own way. ||Check In: ||The hotel were very generous and knew we had to check out of our previous hotel by 12pm so offered for us to check in immediately if we required - it's low season so this may have just been an advantage for us. ||Upon arrival your greeted with the same hospitality that I grown to expect from a Botique Hotel. The reception staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, making the process quick and simple. ||The Rooms: ||When we checked online we liked the design of some of the rooms and opted for a standard room, which we had discussed with the hotel prior to arrival. When we did check in the were very amenable and showed us 2 rooms allowing us to choose which one we wanted - again this may just have been because it was low season but shows the lengths they go to, to deliver exceptional customer service. ||Our room comprised of a large double bed, TV (limited channels), mini bar, bathrobes, large walk In shower and fresh towels every day. They are quick to clean your room at any opportunity - which was usually done whilst we were at breakfast. ||The Hotel Amenities: ||This is a fully equipped hotel with a discreet entrance, not making it obvious that it's a GAY hotel. Behind the solid gate you'll find a zen line interior with ponds, raked stone pathways and lots of green foliage to help you relax in this private oasis. ||As you pass through reception you reach a multifunctional area where there is the bar, swimming pool, a large selection of sun loungers, beds and seats and of course the SPA facilities (more about this shortly). Towels are complimentary to use during your visit and the pool is a decent length/depth and is extremely clean. They have a well stocked bar as well as array of delicious food available - all at realistic prices. ||The SPA: ||As part of your stay at the hotel you also get access to the SPA which includes a fully equipped gym (some of the machines are alittle rustic but still fully functioning), the swimming pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna, Steam Room and of course the Massage rooms. ||They offer an array of SPA services which are alittle more pricey than massage salons outside of the hotel, but here you avail of a massage and then straight back to your sunbed/lounger or pool to relax some more. ||During the day these features are only open to the hotel guests but from 5pm locals and tourists can also visit the faciliaites for a small fee making it more inclusive. ||Food & Drink ||Although we didn't eat here at night time due to the large array of places to eat, we did use the daytime menu and the food was fantastic, drinks are well priced and again it's the service that makes the difference. Drinks and food do take some time to prepare but if your staying in this resort your here to relax so enjoying the experience is what it's about. ||Staff: ||The Owner/Manager and staff could not be more attentive - there did appear to be alot of staff around which was more noticeable due to there not being alot of guests - or when guests do arrive it appears they are only here for 2-3 nights. That being said its good to see that they would be able to handle a full hotel with the same level of attentive service. ||The Good: ||- The standard of service in the hotel from the biggest assest - they are friendly and always helpful.|- Discreet - The hotel is secluded and offers the benefit of being discreet |- Amenities - The hotel has everything a guest would need (with exception to the below). ||The Bad: ||There is nothing really bad about this hotel but if I were to be super critical there are a few things I'd probably still expect to just make this hotel perfect (and this is down to very much my personal preference). ||- An Iron - all our clothes had been packed away for 2 weeks prior to arriving here so an iron on site (even a communal one) would have been nice.||- A UK/English speaking TV channel - not that you intend to spend too much time in your room but an English speaking TV channel would be nice as your getting ready or keeping up to date with news etc - a service other...
Read moreWhat strikes me is the lounge music and soft lighting surround the pool area. After a long day of trip under the sun and heat, you really want to submerge yourself into caressing salty water that illuminates. Conveniently closed by is a cocktail bar with a dozen of choices. The musics they play is specially arranged lounge type that I like very much. We ask for a playlist before we check out.
Even we are tired from the tour, we wake up around 6 - 7 o'clock in the morning to enjoy the cool air in the orchid garden near to where the breakfast is served. Opposite to when we are at home, our gym time is after breakfast followed by a cold shower before heading to temples.
Dusk is the time you need to make a choice between hitting the local night market or staying in the Resort to meet local young men. 10 minutes of tuk-tuk drive, you are in the middle of hustle and bustle of street foods, pubs, restaurants, massage parlors. Or 10 steps of walk to MEN's jacuzzi and walking maze adjacent to the pool area to make your own discovery. It's getting crowded after 5 and before 9 p.m. on a workday. Oh, by the way, they do offer onsite massage in private rooms. Compared to the well known all-male B&B in Bangkok, this place offers real techniques and do not finish early. For the massage treatment I give score of 100, where the Bangkok one, many of you may know what I refer to, scores 60 only.
Owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. They act almost instantly when there's request. Laundry is returned the same day. Simple breakfast and dinners are available.
We enjoy the stay and think about the next...
Read moreDec. 15, 2019 - I have just stayed a month in the yellow suite. My home away from home ;) Home is Copenhagen Denmark but apart from the 18 hours door to door trip I feel very much at home in Siem Riep. Not least because I was here the first time in 2010, and have been back several times. I have shared two photos from 2010 - The nice owners and myself at breakfast at the pool area. Other snapshots are new. I appreciate the relaxed feeling from entering Men's reception and throughout my whole stay. In these stressfull busy times it's such a relief to stay at a place with 100% male energy, men only guests and male staff only. The mix of guests varies age wise, and so does the length of stay. Some mornings guests are leaving early for sightseeing etc., and you may almost have the pool area for yourself. I love a swim before the nice breakfast and later relaxation in my cosy "zen corner," being thoughtful ;) With the 14 rooms/suites only it can often seem a little empty and quiet which I think is cool. During the afternoon guys may drop in from the outside spending time at the pool side and later at 5 pm the sauna area opens. Both locals and tourists daily come for relaxation, meeting friends or maybe cruising ;) From 7 am until 11 pm the bar at the pool side is open for breakfast, small lunch and dinner dishes and drinks. Men´s is a nice contemporary place, rustic design and interior and not very much to disturb your minds, but still with a twist of cozyness with contemporary and ancient art.
Thanks for hosting me and making me...
