I recently had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Kroya by Chef Chanrith, and it was an extraordinary culinary experience that I won't soon forget. Situated in the heart of Siem Reap, this restaurant offers a perfect blend of traditional Cambodian flavors with modern culinary techniques.
From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the elegant and serene ambiance. The decor seamlessly integrates elements of Khmer culture with contemporary design, creating a welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere. The outdoor seating area, surrounded by lush greenery, is particularly charming and adds to the overall dining experience.
The menu at Kroya is a masterpiece, showcasing the best of Cambodian cuisine with a creative twist. I had the chicken salad, chicken banh mi, and ribs, and each dish was a delightful revelation.
The chicken salad was a refreshing start, featuring tender chicken pieces mixed with crisp vegetables and a tangy dressing that perfectly balanced the flavors. It was light, flavorful, and a great way to whet the appetite.
What truly set Kroya apart was the exceptional service. Our server, Saven, was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. Saven provided excellent recommendations and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The warm hospitality and attention to detail made us feel welcome and valued.
Kroya by Chef Chanrith is a gem in Siem Reap's culinary scene. The combination of exquisite food, a beautiful setting, and outstanding service makes it a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning on my next visit to Siem Reap.

Read moreA truly memorable experience on our second night in Siem Reap. We were recommended Kroya by Chef Chanrith through a friend and had no expectations going in—but we left completely impressed.
We opted for the 6-course tasting menu with wine pairing, which was such a great way to explore modern Cambodian cuisine. I loved not having to overthink the menu and instead being taken on a journey of flavour. Each dish was beautifully presented and full of vibrant, thoughtful flavours that gave us a deeper appreciation of Cambodian ingredients and traditions—just with a contemporary twist. The red fire ants were a first and really added a pop of flavour to the soup.
The wine pairing was generous and well-matched. We especially loved the Chardonnay (though I wish I could remember where it was from!). We were also fortunate to meet Chef Chanrith himself—he was warm, engaging, and had some very cool glasses to top it off.
Huge thanks as well to our incredible servers, Solin and Bunrath, who were attentive, kind, and made the evening feel extra special. They even surprised me with a birthday dessert and song—such a thoughtful and personal touch that I’ll never forget. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for something refined yet rooted in...

One of my favorites restaurants during this trip. I’ve wonderful experience.
When I first passed by this hotel after visiting the little arty market on Oum Khun Street, my first feeling is ‘oh so colonial’. The swing beds seem to move one back in time.
We’ve dinner indoor and afternoon tea out door on the swing bed.
Decor is elegant and classy. The indoor floor to ceiling glass wall offer the full view of the swimming beds and the street.
White linen napkin with black trim, very handsome looking.
Atop a ring of jasmine, is four fat Indian lotus. They must be infatuated with flowers because many of their foods have flowers and leaves, that are edible.
Very good stems.
The service is wonderful and the foods are delicious. We’ve two small different tasting menus by chef Chanrith. (The full menu at nahm was just too much!)
The among of food is fine, would be better if it’s slightly less. The presentation and taste are excellent.
They care enough to ask if we want our dessert immediately or after five minutes.
It’s an 80 degree night, comfortable with or without a thin shawl. We’ve our desserts out on their swing bed. I can see myself falling asleep on it, after a...
