Star Cozy Hotel — Hotel in Calgary

nice hosts(s) very welcoming when first arrived.but other then that this is what we observed...||||room is nothing like picture false advertisement for sure. He pushed dollar store used sandals on us to wear in the house, as he called "slippers" lol ,they weren't clean looking and didn't feel comfortable with that at all.||the room we stayed in, was the master bedroom of the house converted into 2 different units from what we could tell. the walk in closet was taped shut with packaging tape...not sure what that was for? Didn't no if that was another rent out room back in the closet, or someone was in there staying lol but weird to say the least.||the bedding was not clean and found hair in between the layers of bedding. all furniture and bedding seemed to be purchased from the local thrift store. Bedroom had no theme and nothing matched. ||We were told we had our own bathroom from the pictures and description, but it was a shared bathroom with the rest of the house. cleanliness was not up to par in any area of the house. ran out to my car to get my cell charger at 11:30 at night and owner had me locked out and had to knock to get him to let me back in. (Was only outside for like 1 minute in and out). He told me to use the basement entrance which was not explained when first arrived, when talking things over. Not impressed, felt like i was a kid in high school in my parents house under the watchful eye. the back entrance came out right under the bedroom window we stayed in. They had other tenants in the basement coming out that door to smoke and could hear talking periodically through the night.||Garbage bins outside were overflowing with ravens picking at them.||||Wished we would have stayed in a motel for all it was worth. Got a good laugh outta the hole situation anyways and was a learning lesson, where to stay and not to stay.||||*Do not recommend this place to anyone that can find other accommodations or even a low budget motel would be better in our opinion. *||||didnt want to comment on this place but have to warn what we found there.||i wish someone put a review like this when we looked at them ,but people are to nice to put a bad...

The landlord's will trespass and go through your room when you aren't in there and go through all your stuff,. you hear absolutely everything in this house, from footsteps to even the phone vibrating upstairs, there is a bed bug problem on the couches and IN the carpet and there furniture, a fruit fly problem in the kitchen/laundry room, and black mold throughout the basement, this is an illegal suite and should be removed immediately. These people are the definition of slum Lord's. This isn't a safe or private place to find comfort at all. AVOID AT ALL CAUSE. The fridge doesn't work half the time and your food goes bad and it gets tampered with by other temporary tenants. There is no heat control in the suite and it is always freezing cold (October-december and winter months) the walls aren't sealed and mudded so there is a spider problem also, making it impossible to hold any heat or isolation, you also smell everything they cook upstairs and it leeches into your clothing and bedding, it's almost as if they blow it through the...

We needed somewhere to stay for a few nights in Calgary, so we stayed here. The family were friendly and very helpful. It has a small kitchen which was clean as was the fridge and cooking equipment. The bedroom was clean as was the bathroom. The only failing was no dining table or dining chairs so if you were to cook you had to sit on the sofa and use the coffee table.
