ello, December 31 I checked in to Ramada emerald park Regina location around 9 pm, I rushed to the room, unpacked and headed to the pool with my children before it closed. When I got back to my room I wanted to bathe my kids and had a chance to look at the room. Right away I noticed the bathroom was dirty, the shower had what appeared to be shaven pubic hairs on the wall, the drain was clogged and water from the previous people that sat dirty wasn’t cleaned, there was a string of someone else’s floss at the bottom of the shower, and the floors were dirty. I then went to the bed to see if that was clean and immediately seen something was spilled on our top sheet and not washed out. Then, my 7 year old daughter brought me a pill she found and another one she stepped on on the carpet. With a 6 month old baby playing and putting things in his mouth, this lack of cleanliness couldve been terrible. I called the front desk asking if someone could come clean it, to be informed there’s no housekeeping on duty, and that she was here alone. She moved us to another room which was a very big inconvenience having to pack all of our things late at night and resituate in the new room. When we got to the new room I asked the staff to stay while I checked the bathroom. The second room was much cleaner however the bathroom was still very uncleanly. The bottom of the toilet was heavily soiled, corners of the floors dirty with dirt/hair etc. The staff apologized and informed me again that there’s no house keeping on duty and she was alone. I ended up cleaning the room myself. I understand on this day many people come to hotels to party, however I am travelling across the country with two children alone for a family death over the holidays. I usually will stay at the atlas hotel or seven oaks if I ever have to travel through Regina. This being my first time at Wyndham I was appalled by the difference in cleanliness between the hotels. This hotel was jam packed, I was informed I had the last room available, yet there was no housekeeping in the hotel to keep the space clean. In the am when I went to speak with the assistant manager, I was informed that she could offer me an offensive 15% discount for the terrible experience I had. I told her this was completely innapropriate for the troubles I had to go through to stay here. She told me she would send someone to look at the room and that was all she could do for me. I told her that I wasn’t happy with that and she said that she wouldn’t give me a discount at all then and to talk to her boss. She said I was being rude and walked away, however I was calm, not swearing, not being rude and just trying to explain this has been terrible for me. She walked away from me and the male staff member that was standing there witnessing this apologized for her behaviour and tried said he understood what I was saying, was very kind and empathetic and tried to talk to the assistant manager to reason with her that this was not okay. When I cited that the drugs found in my room could have severely harmed my young baby and that this could’ve been something really terrible for the hotel she told me I was threatening her…. Bringing light to the seriousness of this is not a threat. The common areas of the hotel were gross, and did not stand a chance to be maintained with not one single house keeper, keeping the fully packed hotel clean throughout the evening. The assistant manager said she will not give me a discount at all and to call her boss since the “solution” she offered wasn’t suffice for me. I asked her to come to look at the room with me so she could see I wasn’t trying to be difficult but that the hotel was in fact very dirty to see that 15% discount doesn’t come close to justifying my experience. She refused. This has been terrible experience at this hotel. Please see attached pictures.

Will never stay at this hotel again. The service was the absolute worst I have ever seen. This hotel does not care whatsoever about its guests. The hotel was absolutely disgusting stains in the carpet, the couch had holes in it, the curtains were ripped (I took a picture of them and showed it to the front desk and they said “oh”) we got locked out of our room and we’re told it was the battery on our doorknob and just to leave the door wide open it’s ok cuz they have security cameras. The breakfast was disgusting. The people working there were so rude it blew my mind that they would treat paying customers that way and still have a job. When I called to complain and spoke to the assistant manager she was beligrant. She called me a flat out liar when I told her I had brought it to the front desks attention that my curtains were ripped. We left right after we got locked out of our room because we weren’t going to leave the door wide open with all our things inside. I was told I would only get 10% back for being locked out of my room that I paid $180 for one night and that doesn’t even cover the tax I paid for the room. I had to call twice to complain to even get $18 refunded back to me. I will continue to leave reviews about my experience everywhere I can because this hotel is a joke and I hope I can deter people from staying here

Wasn’t great waking up a a bug crawling beside me in which I’m fairly certain was a bed bug. Fifth or sixth time staying here, normally fantastic. Area is great. Safe, quiet, and professional. Awesome for families or people like me who come down for work. Sadly this time was different. After waking up with a bug crawling next to me, I captured it in a cup for pictures and looked under the bed to see if I could find more or evidence of them being around. After finding it I had let the told the cleaning staff who were very apologetic and friendly, told me to tell the front desk as well. After settling up I gave them the heads up and was told they’d let their pest control know. Seemed a tad cold, maybe shocked? Either way didn’t come across with much care or concern (I’m not perfect, I could have read the situation wrong). Hope it’s just a one off situation that gets resolved as it’s normally a nice place to stay. Unsure if I’ll stay again, if I ever do try again I’ll definitely be double checking the bed before crashing for the night!

My family and I rented two joining rooms on December 27th for a fun Christmas get together for the kids. The rooms were booked two months in advance, I had the confirmation e-mail to prove it. Upon arrival I was told that they only had one room under my name. I showed them the confirmation e-mail, and they indicated that they did not have any joining rooms available. This was a disappointment as it was supposed to be part of the fun. However, they told us we could have two rooms side by side, and we were okay with that. (when i went to check out they charged me more for one of the rooms, saying it was because I booked it that day. Only after arguing about it with them that I was not paying EXTRA for their mistake, did he discount it almost to the same price as the other room - what a joke) We get to our rooms and the rooms were DIRTY. The sinks and counters were sticky and had stuck on food and dirt. We used the pull out couch for two of the kids to sleep on, and when opening it we found the sheets to be unchanged and DIRTY with old food in the sheets. We called down to the front desk and told them about the dirty couch bed, and asked for new sheets, two pillows and a blanket for the kids to sleep there. The woman told me that there was no extra sheets or blankets left in the hotel as it was at max capacity. A family member went down to the front desk to talk to them in person, as how could a hotel not have ANY extra blankets and sheets) he got down to the front desk and the woman was literally Stradling the man, did not get up even after they seen a customer standing there. It was discovered that her boyfriend worked there, but was not on shift at the time. My family member again asked for fresh sheets and blankets, in which they told him there was NO extra blankets in the entre hotel. Eventually, he got upset enough that she got up off her boyfriend, and she found sheets for him, and she brought them up to our room. She handed them to me (TOP SHEETS not fitted sheets for the mattress) then upon leaving they called us a derogatory name in their language, likely thinking we would not know what it meant. An hour later my daughter and niece went down to the lobby and a new lady was working at the desk. They asked for a blanket and the lady said "sure no problem!" and pulled one out from the completely full closet behind her. During our stay we also utilized the FILTHY brownish green lake water pool/ hot tub. Our kids had stepped on a dirty sanitary pad at the bottom of the pool, there was SO much dirt, debris, soap scum floating in the water. It was also ICE cold you could barely enjoy yourself. I cannot begin to even explain how disgusting the hot tub water was. The pool floor was disgusting. We went down for the breakfast, it was the same as the rest of the stay. Dirty/ empty/ eggshells in the eggs, meat undercooked... yuck. We did express our concerns to the new staff working that morning who stated there were other complaints regarding the night staff and they did appologize. However, then later I get an email that they charged another night to my credit card for the following night, and so even after I left I was still calling there having to reason with them. I stayed at this hotel a few times when it was first new and we had a good experience. I will never come back to this hotel, ever. The location is fine, but if i could give this hotel zero stars for cleanliness or customer service, I would. Save your money and...

Beware of all the phenomenal 5 star reviews written by one-time reviewers. ||||Our family booked for 3 nights based on location, as we visited family in a rural community East of Regina with limited options. ||||We felt confident booking at the Ramada Emerald City as it is a new-ish hotel and the reviews were really good. It also needs to be stated that our options were limited in the area. ||||There were no issues with check in. As we proceeded to our room (second floor), we noticed that the hallway floors were ‘squeaky’ and the carpet was visibly dirty with obvious stains everywhere. ||||We entered our room and found that the Queen sized beds were seemingly very small; noticeably smaller than the Queen beds at our house. The room’s carpet was also stained and overall, appeared dirty. Bathroom towels were in tatters and rough. ||||We slept poorly on the first night. The beds felt like ‘double’ rather than Queen which made them crowded and uncomfortable. We had challenges setting the room temperature to be comfortable, regardless of the setting selected on the HVAC unit. We could also clearly hear footsteps from the room above and everyone walking in the hallway. In all fairness, we are all light sleepers and acknowledge that we seldom sleep well on our first night away from home. So we decided not to complain about the matter. ||||Breakfast area was chaotic. Considering the hotel seemingly caters to families (water slides & al), the breakfast area is very crowded. While one attendant tightly rationed the scrambled eggs, bacons and sausage, the remainder of the breakfast area was a mess. ||||We attended the pool and water slides area on the second evening. The pool temperature was very cold as was that of the slides. The sauna was closed for maintenance and as is the case with most hotel pools, the pool towel shelves were barren. ||||Second and third nights of sleep were a petition of the first night with poor sleep. ||||Complaining proved futile as we really had nowhere else to go so we just chucked our stay as a mediocre experience not to be repeated. During future trips, we will likely look at staying in east Regina and commute a little...
