The two stars are for the building. The empty three stars are for the business and service. The building was clean, the room was small but good enough for a couple nights, the tv and WiFi worked well. The breakfast offered more than expected in choice; though it seemed I was expected to clean up after myself and the food had been sitting in the warmers for awhile it was more than adequate considering it was free. But I will never again stay at this hotel.
But the problems encountered with the business itself made my evening miserable. I made the reservation with a friend’s credit card because I do not have one. At other hotels, I was able to pay a cash deposit and have it returned on the way out in lieu of a credit card payment. I was not allowed to spend money on the credit card I phoned with, and I explained that it was a borrowed card when I made the reservation, so I thought I could sort the deposit at the front desk.
I was told: The system won’t let me My computer doesn’t have that option The manager isnt here I can’t help you Borrow someone else’s credit card, and get a signature so we can use it (I was traveling alone - how was this helpful?) Get your friend to use her card (my “friend” was someone I met on the airport shuttle, who had already left for her room) I can’t take cash You can’t stay here without a credit card The last guy who was allowed a cash deposit did $2,000 worth of damage and the manager hasn’t let anyone else do it since
I offered: To pay a deposit To pay for the room in advance
I asked: To speak to a manager If I had to find a new hotel What I was supposed to do at 8pm with no other reservation
Eventually a supervisor came out (I didn’t even know she was in the building, even though I asked to talk to a manager) and asked why I was sitting in the lobby, visibly upset as I texted my friends asking for suggestions what to do. She said if one of my friends sent photos of their credit card and photo ID she would accept it. One of my friends sent me photos via text, which then the supervisor took photos of my phone because their email wasn’t working.
I was embarrassed and felt punished for being responsible with my money by avoiding debt. To top it off, in order to be responsible with my money I ended up being forced to be irresponsible with a friend’s. After a day of work and travel, sitting in a lobby thinking I had nowhere to go for the night was awful. I will never again stay...

Giving an actual honest review from someone who travels & without sugarcoating. I have zero reason to exaggerate anything and trying to convey the issues.
Cooperate ownership of this hotel needs to stand up and invest into their aging properties period. Unlikely but it would be great if this actually gets to someone who wants to see change in this location. This hotel was built in 1978 and it shows in a bad bad way.
I will mention that I can tell staff are incredibly friendly and welcome and doing the best job they can in this cryptic haunted house
everything from rooms to elevators are incredibly dated. Elevators feel like they are about to break. Room walls are very thin and you can hear everyone’s conversations
As I said, rooms feel directly from 1978 and furniture to match. —Cooling/Heating is absolutely not adequate due to the strange room configuration and the ac unit being so far away from the rest of the room (I understand some rooms can be different size) —My shower spray is almost vertical against the back of the shower and can’t be adjusted down
Internet is near non existent, I literally can’t even play a mobile card game. I have never had worse internet in any hotel than my stay here (I am guessing it has to do with improper hardware setup in the hotel and likely use load from other guests
Hotel restaurants closes on Mondays…. Are we serious? Best western properties is a massive company and this is what guest get here for amenities?
All this for the same price as the brand new Marriott a little further away, truly a terrible location. Again thank you to the great staff who are doing what they can to manage...
Read moreAbsolute garbage of a hotel. I was in GP for a funeral, and had already been up for 18 hours when we got to this hotel.. it was a hard day for me.
I called in to make a reservation. I told the representative that we needed a pet friendly room for July 13th. They sent me a confirmation that stated it would cost $182.24, but when I got to the hotel, they tried to charge me $220.39. Now I’m no mathematician, but those numbers don’t seem even close to each other. I called customer relations, and they told me that the hotel is allowed to charge whatever they want on top of the quoted fee!!!! So even if you’re sent an invoice for $182, you’re going to have to pay $220.. the snotty representative at the front desk told me that they have a “sustainability” charge that you can opt out of, but they failed to mention that to me at all. Then they said I wasn’t charged for the pet fee in the initial invoice, so I’d have to pay another $35, despite that being their mistake. They told me that my military ID would also help lower the price, and they refused to take it when I got to the front desk. And on top of all of that, the guy at the desk slammed my phone down on the counter when he was done talking to the customer service person I had called to try and figure this out.
It was too late to cancel the reso, so I just had to swallow my pride and pay the $220. We tried to shower, and not only was the tub dirty with some weird black goop, but the drain in the tub didn’t actually drain water out. We had to turn the water on for 3 minutes, then turn it off and wait another 5 minutes for the water to drain out, and repeat.
I’d rather sleep in my car next...
