I booked a group of 15 rooms here for 8 days, for our U14 Softball Team coming out form Saskatchewan for the Canadian National Championships earlier this month. I dealt first of all with Holly from the time of booking in April and she then handed everything over to Linda and Mallory to see the booking through as she was on her MAT Leave. All three ladies could not have been more helpful - with everything from ensuring our party had the correct room types, to being as close together as possible to never seeming to mind when some of the boys (and parents!) seemed to constantly (and I mean CONSTANTLY) lose our keys!||The accommodation was all that we needed for a team such as ours - we did the research unlike some people who have posted negative reviews on here. We knew it was a dorm residence, we knew it had basic amenities and that was what we expected going in. The huge laundry facility was a MUST for us with washing softball uniforms daily - clean, well kept, functional and pleasantly cool! The group cooking and dining area were great for us but sadly we weren't able to make use of it too much due to the timings of our games. The kitchen however was very dirty upon arrival and sadly, the sinks never were un-blocked during our time there - not an issue for us as we ended up just having one meal there and we ordered in for that. ||Some of our rooms did have some maintenance issues and some of those issues were resoled in a timely manner and some were not - the major one being with my air conditioning that did not work. I reported it daily and it wasn't until the Sunday morning after I had checked in the prior Monday, that I was told that a part was needed and it would be in the next day - however, that was the day we were checking out. I do not feel the need to slander the hotel on this forum because of it - the AC didn't work, I reported it, it didn't get fixed - that's the end of it. No need to "shame" anyone on here because of it...........it was warm, but not unbearable. ||It should be noted - and passed on to the team - that above all, what stood out most was the incredibly friendly staff - from housekeeping to Front Desk to the sales team I mentioned above. The Front Desk ladies had a very pleasant attitude every time we saw them and assisted us with dining reservations for the team, and helping us organize other things to do.||I give a 5 star review because we got everything we expected. If people give a 1 star review and then mention that it looked like a College Dorm and was very basic - that's because it IS a college dorm AND very basic and if they didn't know that, it's their own fault for not...
Read moreI am currently a student at Conestoga College, I go to Doon Campus, which is just across the way. I don't even want to talk about how much it was to stay here for only 8 months, but I digress. When I arrived here, I was excited and thought it would be cool to live on my own. It was a few days of living here I realized I was in trouble.... The fridge is way out of whack! The normal fridge ends up freezing most of our drinks, yet you assume that the freezer works well, and that it does. The floor is extremely slippery, spilling even the smallest amount of liquid onto the surface, sent me flying halfway across the Kitchenette Floor, and almost hitting my head, which is a serious health hazard to me because I suffer from epilepsy. The shower in the bathroom is EXTREMELY small! Both in height and width, however, I am 6' 1", so perhaps it's normal for some, but for anyone 5' 11" and above, good luck showering! On the fourth day, I also noticed duct tape placed on the wall above the mirror, when I approached a staff member, they simply said (with a chuckle) "Oh yeah, we were removing a light that was there, and we had to rip it out real good!" ARE YOU SERIOUS?? I get the necessary removal, but for employees to act so immature and unprofessional, is really insulting. The AC/Heater has a range of degree's on it, basically saying, it has to be this high for the AC to activate, or this low for the heat to activate. As a young college guy, this stuff doesn't peeve me off too bad, but if anyone is looking to stay here as a hotel?! I suggest you stay far FAR away...

I needed a place to live for 6 months while I was going to school, they said that I could live there past the summer session for the entire period I needed. I even spoke to the manager about it and he said I could and it was listed on the website that I could live there for half a year for a price. The first 2 weeks there it was an inferno 28-32 degrees because the air conditioner was busted and the summer sun raised the temperature inside considerably, they gave no compensation or even a way to cool off. By the time the summer session comes to a close I was told to move out, I had 2 more months for school and they provided zero help finding a place for me. No one will rent you a place for 2 months in that area, all the realtors in the area only cater to the school semester time frame 4-8 months and the apartments only had 1 year leases. All the manager claimed was it was a mix-up and kept repeating sorry in the most insincere way possible. They put me on a limb and now I have to pay far more money to live somewhere else, all just to make more money off of another guy going to school there. Is this the type of place you want to put your money into? And to top it just like Al said in his review they gave me nothing to live with this increased expenditure cost I needed to live there and finish my schooling. Never trust a college residence, they are just trying to fill spots during summer just to make more money and they'll throw you out on your behind...
