Leamington is a busy place during wedding season, thus the reason for our stay at the sunparlor motel. Customer service was not good, they do not have someone at the front desk waiting to help you during the hours of operation. I paid etc and they didn't give me a key. There were children lingering in the office/front desk. It smelled like bad body odor and tumeric mixed together to make one unpleasant smell. They keep people's ID right at the glass opening so if you wanted to reach in and get it you could. This was just the office.
Room
First impression is "why does it smell so stale in here?". Outdated furniture, dirty/graffitied dresser drawers, No clock, stained pillow cases, bathroom smelled of urine and Raid bug killer. Towels were also stained and rough to the touch. The soap supplied was of low quality. The bathroom was humid and not air conditioned. At one point the receptionist knocked on our room door to obtain his ID when they already had mine. They should've called. No coffee machine, you get half of the cable channels and not the good ones. I arrived to my room at night and there were several millipedes swarming the door. Can hear the neighbors tv through the wall. There is a garage off of the main building and they keep linens and supplies there to stock the room with. It is also where chemicals are kept.
I went to check out and the guy was behind the large glass partition at the top of a staircase yelling down to me. I said, "I'm checking out". He yelled, "okay, you leave key, bye."
I can honestly say that I will never stay there ever again!!! It was a bad experience that I wished...
Read moreI booked this motel for my son and his gf. The room is large and clean. Absolutely nothing to complain about for $85/night. ||Best of all was the friendly staff. During check in, check out and in between all the staff that was encountered were very professional and friendly. They went over and beyond to assist. ||My son went to the office around 11:30/11:45pm to ask for another bottle of water because his very pregnant gf was thirsty. They apologized and said they didn’t have any but offered to give them a glass of water. They said it was fine, that they would fill the empty bottle with tap water. He walked back to the room and about 5 minutes later the phone rang. The office was calling to say they have a bottle of apple juice and a bottle of Gatorade (I think) that they could have if they wanted them. ||Such a small thing but says so much. Such a kind gesture. These people went out of their way in the middle of the night to try to assist their guests and make sure they are comfortable. I would never stay anywhere else when...
Read moreHave stayed here before and it was wonderful. This stay i just wanted my money back and run. The shower had Man's hair on the walls. The back of the toilet seat had somebody's butt crack. Bathroom floor was dirty. Table tops were sticky and dirty with glass bottom marks. Sheets were on inside out as if they just used them without changing linen. Beds weren't made properly. Prices were $40 more than agreed upon. Wall picture was from the 1950s and definitely hasn't been painted in years. Owner said he only washes floors 1x week??? Smell was odd haven't figured it out. Talked immediately about my concerns and requested another room but was refused unless I wanted to pay more. No hair dryer, water, soap, shampoo nothing. Definitely really really disappointed. Jose's is next door and the food is Great! McDonald's, KFC, Subway, is 5min walking. So the restaurants are close is the only benefits. As I was checking in i could hear someone sick behind the counter. So I'm being generous...
