Problem 1. I booked a room with a king bed and the bed was a queen size even though the staff was adamant that the bed was a king. I have a king bed and this bed was not a king. It was DEFINITELY not the same size depicted in the photos when booking.. trust me, I actually measured it AND took pictures.

Problem 2. The restaurant apparently had a “new chef” as stated in previous review responses, but still has same terrible food and service. Firstly, I ordered room service twice, and both times had to go down to the restaurant to pick up my room service. The first meal I ordered was “cedar plank” salmon with maple glazed and mango chutney, with twice baked potato and vegetables, a glass of wine, and a piece of chocolate mousse cake. The cedar plank was no bigger than a playing card, which I had a laugh at, the salmon had not been cooked with the maple glaze, it actually had NO seasoning AT ALL, and a tablespoon size of commercially made mango chutney came in takeout container. The fish itself had that unpalatable fishy smell, the twice baked potato was unseasoned, flavourless, dry, and cold and the vegetables were an unseasoned boiled mix of cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots. I requested dressings for the potato which I didn’t get. The wine was good, although they provided the glass of wine uncovered, which I was supposed to carry back to my room, so I had to request they cover the top, so it wouldn’t spill. The mousse cake was ok, but it was ruined by being doused in cheap flavoured chocolate syrup, and it was completely warm, would have been better slightly chilled, but I guess room temperature cake is acceptable in this restaurant. I sent the meal back, which was removed from my bill, so at least they didn’t make me pay for an inedible $28.00 piece of salmon that would have been a lovely dinner for my dog, not me.

The second meal was a varied weekly French toast special, that week was “s’mores”. What I expected: a warm crisp graham encrusted brioche, with a few homemade caramelized marshmallows, topped with shaved, slightly melted milk chocolate. What I got was 3 soggy pieces of French toast with graham crumbs sprinkled on top, completely covered in melted mini marshmallows and marshmallow fluff on top and in between each piece of French toast, and the drizzled in the same watery, flavourless chocolate syrup. I also ordered the avocado toast, which came with 4 tiny pieces of avocado. I had to move the egg to check and see if there was any avocado on it at all, it was ok, but still a failure. I also ordered and orange juice, which came delivered in a Starbucks cup, at least it had a lid, but when I opened it up in my room, there was a bug in it…. Which went down the sink with the orange juice. Whoever is their chef… should actually taste the food they’re serving. How this restaurant gets good ratings is a mystery to me..

I then called the front desk to request to check out a day early.

The good things, if you get a river view room, you will probably have a nice view. The staff is nice and friendly, except when you ask them why your king bed is not an...

First impression was waiting in line for almost 15 minutes behind 1 other person who was already at the front desk when I came in. 2 employees, but the other was on the phone with people constantly calling. Not sure if it was just bad timing, but they looked overworked.

Once I got to the front desk to the one that was on the phone, not much was said and it was extremely transactional. Not a smile, or even a look. Didn't even say bye or your welcome. I guess they were extremely busy, but some small kindness or courtesy would have been appreciated.

Arriving to the room, I was really impressed! Everything was quite modern and new. The first thing I did was unpack and plug my phone in to charge. There are USB ports for charging, but I quickly found out they didn't work at all, so that was my first disappointment. The second disappointment was that the TV is not centered with the bed, and you can't swivel or angle it on the wall, which was annoying.

The biggest issue, and the main reason I am only giving 3/5 stars and would not recommend staying here is the lack of sound isolation. I heard every single conversation in the hallway, and every bowel movement in the pipes from the room above me. I was woken up at 6am due to the conversations and people in the hallway. This was really shocking considering the room was so modern and renovated, but it seems zero attention was paid to sound deadening. I would personally not stay here again for this reason alone, as the entire point of paying for a place to sleep is so that you can actually sleep. Maybe I just got a bad room, but I would stay elsewhere next time I am in town for business.

The good new is that the bed was extremely...

From the moment we arrived at the property, I was in love with the beautiful scenery. Walking into the lobby was impressive, it felt grand and modern. We were immediately greeted by Michael, one of the front desk employees. He was friendly and professional. When we arrived in our room we were surprised by a birthday cake, banner, balloon and card signed by all the hotel staff. I had mentioned when booking that we were travelling for my daughter’s 10th birthday. To say she was excited about the surprise would be an understatement. ||Our room had the most spectacular view. The Marimichi River was only steps away. |The room was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The mattress, bedding and pillows were all excellent quality and provided a wonderful nights sleep. Bath towels were a good size, not typical for most hotels these days. |The indoor pool was a great temperature, the hot tub was clean. The view from the pool area was of the river, creating a relaxing environment. |Having the attached restaurant was a great feature. |When we were walking down the hallway on our way to checkout, we met many staff members from various departments, the hotel was buzzing with housekeepers and maintenance staff. We were greeted by each of the staff members. They were all so pleasant! A couple of them had noticed my daughter’s birthday balloon and had wished her a happy birthday as she passed them. This stood out to me, I was in awe at how every staff member made us feel welcome and important. |We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rodd Marimichi. Having a walking trail and playground steps away from the hotel provided easy access to fun. We look forward to...

Such a wonderful place by far the best and nicest hotel I've been to. The site is amazing, some rooms have a balcony with a view on Miramichi river (it is literally some feet away from the hotel). There are a lot of accommodations in the room, they thought of everything (even a dark colored wash cloth for makeup removal) and small reading lamps each side of the beds to not bother the person next to you with a bright light. The indoor pool is amazing with a very beautiful architecture and full of natural light from the numerous windows around it. It gives the impression you are actually bathing outside in the river! It is facing west which gives a great spectacle at sunset. Also, the pool is salted (no chlorine) which is another good thing. Even on the first floor, each little balcony is intimate and separated with a little wall between each room. A cozy patio chairs/table set is available to sit and relax in front of the river. My mother and I regretted having booked only one night at this wonderful place and we are going to return it's certain!

I recently visited this restaurant located inside a hotel, and I was truly impressed by the overall experience. The view of the lake was absolutely stunning and added so much to the relaxing vibe of the place. I tried their breakfast menu and really enjoyed the pancakes — fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly made. The seating area was comfortable, and I appreciated the thoughtful architecture and design of the space, which made the whole experience feel upscale yet cozy. Whether you’re planning a small event or just looking for a spot to enjoy a weekend brunch or lunch, I’d highly recommend this restaurant. The combination of a great view, good food, and lovely ambiance makes it worth a visit!
