Note: Review as of Spring 2022. My school booked this motel for a 12-day field trip in the surrounding area. The owners were very nice and quickly got our large group into our rooms fairly quickly. The rooms are accessed via physical room keys, unlike the more modern card system. Although the rooms are certainly not modern, they are clean and smell good. The bathroom did have some nicer updates however, which was nice to see. The showerhead was mediocre but it was livable. The beds were comfortable to me. Other amenities included 2 desks, a microwave, a mini-fridge and a nice coatrack. Wifi was pretty fast.. I made most of my meals in the hotel room, and I had ample space to do meal prep. The biggest downside of this hotel is that there is no housekeeping while you stay - you have to take out your trash and keep the room clean yourself. For me, that wasn't a big issue, but if you are busy all day keep that in mind. Amenities outside the rooms include a public lounge with a TV and board games. There was an outdoor pool (which was closed until the summer) and bbq's. The location was perfect - a short walk to all of the shops and downtown Oliver. All in all, while it wasn't fancy, it was clean, had good amenities and was in the perfect location for Oliver. Biggest complaint - lack of room service.

Have realistic expectations about this inn, it’s an Inn and rated that way for a reason. Very little amenities, the rooms were not pleasing to the eye in the least. We had 1 fridge that wasn’t working and smelled of death but were given another that worked. Everything was clean besides a few stray hairs here and there around the bathroom. When asked for fresh towels we did get them upon request. The pool was closed when we went which was a shame but they said it was out of their control as it was needing inspection and approval by the city to first pass safety tests with the water. The horrible thing about the room was the A/C, yes it worked well but it was so LOUD we couldn’t sleep with it on. We had to decide whether to be cold and awake or sleep fitfully in a hot room. Bring EARPLUGS. We could also hear our neighbours talking and tv if we were by the bathroom sink.

Recently, I booked a room through Expedia for a stay at Cactus Tree—first mistake. I informed them through Expedia at the time of booking that I would be arriving late due to my flight schedule. They assured me they would provide late check-in instructions on the day of my arrival. However, I never received any further communication until two days later when they canceled my booking and charged me! On the day of arrival, I called around 8:45 PM when my plane landed and let it ring for 15 minutes. I also messaged through Expedia three times but got no response. These people are crooks. Please stay anywhere else.

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. I have travelled all over the world staying in many different places and have never had issues with a hotel or staff or anything of the sort. They are the most uncommunicative place I have EVER stayed at. So unbelievably unprofessional. I booked in online through a third party website. They didn’t do prepayment which is super weird for a motel. I am a stay at home wife so my husband is the one with the credit card. On the website they were not clear at ALL how their payment works. I assumed it would be simple and they would eventually take a deposit from my husbands card. I eventually checked a week before my friends and I were going to stay there. Very difficult to find on their website but I saw it said that the credit card has to match your ID. So I called at a reasonable hour. Nobody picked up. Did not get called till almost 24hrs later. I explained my situation to them and they gave me four steps my husband had to do to verify I could use his card (ridiculous I have never had a problem). So I than called them back after asking my friend if we could put it on her credit card. I was told VERBATIM “Yes that’s no problem we just need it for when you arrive to take it down just in case something happens in the room.” I said “No problem she can give that to you WHEN WE ARRIVE.” Was not told whatsoever that I needed to change the credit card on my account to my friends credit card. Last night when I check my email (not checking much since I am on my road trip) I got three emails all basically saying my booking was cancelled. It was at midnight when I saw these. So I decided to call them in the morning. No answers yet again I leave a message saying I really hope that I still have my room as I spoke with them about this issue. My friends call an half hour-hour to an hour later still no response (unprofessional have someone at your front desk to answer calls). We decide to drive upto the motel to see. When I get there was told that the third party site called me (lie right to my face they only sent me emails). When I asked and said that they should have tried to also contact me since I SPOKE to them TWO times about this issue to I had it resolved they had real response. When I asked if I could still book my room I had they said no. Honestly happy that I am not staying here after what they are doing to that poor Grooms family. Honestly hope you start being more professional. Oh and your office is super dirty and gross stained carpets. What an awful first impression that I had the moment I walked through. Do....

Oh boy, where to begin??

Check in was a challenge - it is NOT made clear that a preauth is required for the room rental - we offered cash or debit as a deposit and was told it absolutely had to be a preauth. Had to call my cc company and reactivate a card I had closed just to rent the room (my other card was full due to some recent car repairs). Was told I’d we couldn’t do a preauth they would cancel and I would be charged the full amount or the room even if we did not stay.

Checked in and went to a wedding Ceremony. Came back to touch up before reception. We had a pet in the car - did not bring to room and he was coming with us to the reception. While getting ready we noticed smoke coming in our room from our neighbours despite it being a non smoking location. I have sensitive lungs (chronic bronchitis) and informed the staff. Was told smoking is okay outside (within two feet of my door!!) just not in the rooms.

They noticed the dog in my car and told us he cannot be on the site. As I knew it was not pet friendly I told them he would not come out of the car and that he was coming to the wedding with us. They absolutely refused to let us stay with him outside in the car! It was not a hot day and we were only going to be there for 10 mins to fix makeup, etc before returning to the party.

Was told we had to leave. We agreed (didn’t want to breathe in smoke anyway) and booked a different hotel.

We were charged the full amount of the room rental - despite being forced to leave and only being in the actual room for 5-10 minutes and checked in for a mere two hours.

Absolutely no consideration was taken and the staff were very rude. Ruined an otherwise lovely day and out a major damper on what was supposed to be a...
