Good news - world class Vietnamese food is availible in Peterborough! I'm astounded by every aspect of this place; the decor was cool (lots of plants everywhere), the service was fast and friendly and the food. Sweet mother of flavour the food here was delectable, I'm drooling as I write this! First, you're going to have a tough time picking one of the many tantalizing dishes from the menu. Since this was our first time the table tried the salad rolls (spring and veggie) and the spring rolls (two orders of pork). Both were exceptional, I really have to commend the peanut dip. My mom liked it so much she jacked half my serving (Happy Mothers Day?!) then spent the whole ride home talking about how good it was. Main course was even better. I've tried a lot of vermicelli and this was one of my favourite bowls ever. Great ratio of noodles, veggies and protein. The beef was cooked perfectly, with a nice savoury middle and some crispier parts around the outside. I tried a bite of the pork belly and chicken, both similarly tasty. Tonnes of actual vermicelli too so it was very filling. My wife had the veggie Pho (she added rare beef and a fried egg) and loved both the toppings and the broth. Her portion was so large she barely ate half of it! Waitress was friendly, attentive and quick on the refills and food. If it isn't obvious by now, you gotta cancel your dinner plans and get you and everyone you know in here. Unbelievable how good this place is, I might even head back in for lunch tomorrow!

Overall it was a good experience, The food: We ordered the beef and house special Pho, the broth was okay. It didn't having any defining qualities that made it stand out, but it wasn't bad either. The beef was a bit bland; similar to the broth, it was 'okay'. In summary, the Pho was average, a change to the broth would drastically improve the taste. The Vietnamese iced coffee also fell flat, following the pattern of mediocricy. The restaurant & service: The servers were extremely kind and welcoming and food was served fast. The ambiance was great, appealing to the local demographic in a way other restaurants have yet to figure out. The new flavours of food differ from the homogeneity of downtown Peterborough; instead, offering a new experience. Im glad we got to try it out, but as the Pho stands I don't think we'd return for it. Although, the menu is expansive and there are other dishes to try.

We ordered the pork belly banh mi and were a bit disappointed. I was looking forward to a soft, melt-in-your-mouth sandwich, but the pork was overcooked and chewy, and the bread was a little hard around the edges. The fillings were good and tasty, but the dish could have been so much better if the pork had been cooked just right. We also tried the beef noodle soup (pho). This was the first Vietnamese spot I’ve come across in Ontario that uses MSG in the broth. They couldn’t remove it completely, only reduce it, which was surprising. We swapped the rare beef for brisket, lot of meat in the bowl, it was slightly overcooked but still decent. The portion size of the large bowl was generous, and it was enough to take home and enjoy as a second meal. Overall, not too pricey either. The ambiance was great, warm and cozy. There’s free parking in the plaza, and the servers were friendly and attentive.

We enjoy Hanoi House for the great-tasting food and good value. The restaurant is clean, bright and well-planned out. Our visits have always been 5 star, except for yesterday. We were greeted upon entry with a loud, "eating in or take out?" I would have preferred a greeting of, "welcome to Hanoi, will you be eating in or are you ordering/picking up a take out order?" We chose a table, one that was closer to the kitchen counter. The music was loud and on a hard rock station that I found a bit much for a beautiful, calm dining setting. It ruined the atmosphere for me, I put in ear plugs. The servers were having a heart felt conversation about their university professors and all the assignments that needed to be completed. Gossiping about fellow students and totally forgetting to take our order (waited a good 10 minutes). Once our order was taken, the server said the drinks would be brought right away, that didn't happen. Again we could hear personal conversations going on between the 2 younger servers. It really was inappropriate within ear shot of customers. The one server was chewing gum, against Health Regulations and lacked basic customer service skills. Delicious appetizers of 4 various spring rolls were brought to the table. No side plates, so sauce was dripping onto the table as we enjoyed the food. We used our napkins as plates to avoid further mess on the table. Our server never checked on us. As the main dish was being set down at our table, the server asked if we would be wanting anything else today? I asked for salt, never got it. I had to get up and ask the other server at the counter for the salt. Our server had disappeared. We might try again during a weekday, but if we see the same server, we will definitely ask they...

Dude, you won't believe the gnarly experience I had at Hanoi House, this Vietnamese joint that's just off the charts! I'm telling you, it's like a surf to flavor town that you'll be stoked about.

So, like, when I cruised into Hanoi House, the vibe was totally rad. The place had this sweet mix of traditional Vietnamese vibes and a modern twist that made it feel both chill and hip – like riding a wave on a sunny day.

Now, let's talk about the menu, bro. It's a treasure trove of Vietnamese goodness that'll blow your mind. I kicked things off with these fresh spring rolls that were like a taste explosion in my mouth, man. Rice paper wrapped around crisp veggies, herbs, and shrimp, with a dipping sauce that was sweet and savory perfection.

But the real deal was the Pho, bro. It's like a wave of flavor crashing over you. The broth was off the charts, the beef was tender as a sunset, and those rice noodles were on point. I swear I felt like I was in the heart of Hanoi, catching a perfect swell.

And don't get me started on the Bun Cha – grilled pork, rice vermicelli, and that dipping sauce, dude! The pork was caramelized to perfection, and those fresh herbs were like a tropical breeze in my mouth.

The service at Hanoi House? Top-notch, man. The crew there was totally on it, super friendly, and knew their stuff. They made the whole experience even more awesome.

So, in a nutshell, Hanoi House is the spot, bro. It's not just about epic food; it's about the whole Vietnamese culture and hospitality vibe. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or just down to try something rad, this place is a must-visit. Get ready for a flavor ride that'll have you coming back for more, and remember to soak in every tasty bite of this epic dining...
