This is the place to stay if you are going to be visiting anyplace close to Sherwood Park. The location is excellent as it is central to Sherwood Park, but far enough off the main roads to be quiet (think sleeping with the window open a crack) and at the same time is provides very easy access to Edmonton. The amenities are excellent, the one slight miss is that there is now waterside for the kids, but the upside is that the pool area is peaceful and one of the only hotels pools where both pool and hot tub are salt water. The included breakfast is a real breakfast and they have found a way to offer a full breakfast in a buffet while adhering to the current 2020 Covid 19 restrictions. The rooms are clean, modern and spacious with a lots of large pillows. The curtains allow for the room to be very dark. The toiletries are above average quality and not what you expect for the quality of room. Oh the wifi is fantastic. Streaming YouTube was perfect. Lastly the staff. The staff are courteous, pleasant and attentive. This is the place you need to stay - you will thoroughly enjoy your stay!

This was a very smooth check in & check out, nicely greeted by female front desk staff. Only problem we had was during our stay was my son became very sick and unfortunately puked on his bed in the middle of the night. (This sickness had nothing to do with the hotel) When my husband called to request sheets, the guy on the phone abruptly said “ok I will bring you some” and hung up before my husband could say we needed a duvet as well. When he arrived he handed him sheets with no duvet! My husband didn’t want to ask him to come again so my son had to sleep with only a sheet as there are no extra blankets in the closet. He asked the guy where he could place the soiled sheets and his answer was to leave them on our hotel room floor… puke stinks! My husband let him know it was smelly and his solution was to put them in the hallway. In the morning when we got up they were still in the hallway unfortunately. I feel it could have been dealt with a little better, these types of situations sometimes happen!

My mom and I have been loyal patrons of Best Western during our frequent visits to Sherwood Park for farmers markets over the past couple of years. Our experiences had always been positive until our last stay, which left us profoundly disappointed.

Upon preparing for bed after a long day, we were dismayed to find pubic hairs in what were supposed to be clean sheets. Initially, we were willing to overlook a single oversight, but discovering a third instance compelled us to request new bedding. Although the staff provided us with fresh sheets, there was no one available to assist with changing them, leaving us to manage on our own. This was not a significant issue for us, and we appreciated the offer to upgrade to a more prestigious room. However, we declined, as we did not want to appear troublesome; we simply desired clean sheets.

Expecting some form of compensation for the inconvenience, we hoped for a discount or a complimentary room for one of our two nights, especially since we took the initiative to change the bedding ourselves. Unfortunately, the hotel’s response was to award us points within their system. The gesture, while perhaps well-intentioned, did not align with our expectations. We found the points system confusing and not particularly useful, given our lack of interest in future stays.

Additionally, we couldn’t help but notice a decline in the quality of the breakfast offerings over the last few months, with a limited selection that heavily favored starches and proteins, lacking in fruits and vegetables.

While the staff at Best Western were always kind, courteous, and apologetic about our concerns, the resolution offered by management—points instead of a direct form of compensation—was disappointing. We had hoped for a more straightforward acknowledgment of our inconvenience, such as a discounted or complimentary stay, rather than points we do not intend to use.

It’s with a heavy heart that we share this review, as our past experiences have been so positive. We wish the management team would reconsider how they address such issues in the future to maintain the high standards we know Best Western...

The rooms were nice as it was a new hotel. Check-in late at night was good and the breakfast room was good. And then........

a) Staff meeting in the breakfast room with the staff hanging out for more than an hour. TIP - do your meetings elsewhere as a guest I want to relax. The facilities are for the guests not the staff. b) Guys with metal ladders clanging and banging in the pool area while we are trying to enjoy an peaceful am swim. TIP: Do your maintenance pm when the guest are not there. Fire alarm in full operation between the ladder guys. c) FIRE Alarm drills am starting 9:30 am??? Guys knocking on my door and wanting to come to check room while we are trying to get dressed? Guy with hat hanging outside (staff) our door till we checked out. We were basically rushed out of our room at 10:00. So much for valuing the guests. "We gotta do the drill man" is his answer?? TIP: Do your drill at 11:00 WHEN YOUR GUESTS HAVE CHECKED OUT!!

The operation of this hotel is done at a clueless level with little consideration for the guests.

People that travel want peace and quiet and we want to be able to enjoy our stay. The staff dresses professionally and smiles but that is about it. Obviously Best Western has some serious issues at the corporate level in general if they can allow a hotel to be run in this manner and a guest to be treated rudely (guy hanging outside of our door texting till we left).

I left a card expressing my concerns at the hotel. NO RESPONSE. Rule one of business is respond to customer concerns. WE DON'T CARE is the general feeling I get from my stay at that particular hotel. Another example of poor...

So i had a very unfortunately accident of getting a room at this hotel first when i walked in I was greeted by the staff very poorly by these two asians at the front desk and were very ratially profiling me but at first they were making fun and laughing at my accent and the way i talked which was very unprofessional and they were swearing at the back with each other too and they were kind of loud and rude with us aswell and i had kids with me aswell so i had a very bad u professional experience from the staff and i will never recommend this to anyone i know it was unfortunate mistake i made to get a room at this hotel i never felt more humiliated in my life before the unfortunate day my wife picked the hotel on august 23 i will never forget it, the only reason we stayed there was because it was in the evening ish around 5 or 6 or something but we should've checked other hotels too but very unprofessional staff i heard the mocking us right after we left very u professional even my kids felt bad they were very upset and felt kind of depressed almost and never even in life felt this kind of racism from these two ladies our family is nothing but nice to others so all we expect in return is just don’t racially abuse us because we are a certain race i will never be returning but i wish their staff head or someone professional was there to talk this issue to and i feel like this...
