The most unfriendly welcome by the lady on reception we had received through our trip of Quebec. In fact the only hotel where we were made to feel unwelcome and the only hotel where we could not check in prior to the guarantee time. We arrived 90 minutes before 4pm and was told our room was not ready but rather than receive a nice welcome we were simply told not ready til 4pm. There was no offer to leave our bags anywhere and we had to ask. We then watched person after person, arrive all able to check in immediately, and I mean everbody. At 3pm the unpleasant receptionist left. At 3.30 I then asked the young lad (unfriendly receptionist had been training him) if our room was ready. Again we were confronted with 4pm guaranteed check in. People continued to arrive and be checked in to their rooms. Just before 4 I went to desk again and this time spoke with a young lady who had taken over the afternoon shift. She went to a little box on the reception desk located our voucher & immediately checked us in. She was very friendly & her customer service superb. Not once did the unfriendly lady look at the voucher on the desk. We checked out early next morning for the whale watching and we saw a box allowing room cards to be dropped in. As there was a queue and we had provided a credit card on check in and £200 had been reserved on the card (plus we did not use any service at the hotel as after dealing with unfriendly receptionist we decided not to eat ir drink in the hotel and to take our business elsewhere) we dropped them in believing it was an express checkout. Sadly unfriendly receptionist was back on the desk and the way she stopped and spoke to us was disgusting. She has no concept of basic customer service or any manners at all. As I joined the queue I told her she was very rude. This one person really impacted our trip to Tadoussac and left us with a bitter taste about the place. The room was recently refurbed, was clean & comfortable. I can't recommend this hotel because of the experience so go elsewhere if you can. I'm fine with the 4pm check in, that wasn't the issue. The issue was how rude & unwelcoming that receptionist was.She needs some retraining in customer service. I'll also be advising my agent to look to use...

To be completely honest, for the price paid, the experience was not nearly as worth it as it should have been.

The room was beyond tiny and for having 3 people in it with 1 queen and 1 twin…let’s just say there wasn’t much move around space! However, the beds were beyond comfortable and extremely clean, well maintained, and the overall room/stay was quiet. The bathroom, similarly, was very small and tight. There were no accommodations, breakfast, or amenities in the bathroom. In the shower, there are built in body wash, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers.

The service was pleasent. Nothing too over the top, but it was reasonable.

Location wise — it is the perfect walking distance from everything in Tadoussac! The town is very small and cozy, but in terms of distance to the ferry, whale watching dock, restaurants, supermarket, chapel, and beach, it’s great. In terms of accessibility, the hotel itself is on a hill; do with that information what you will.

The hotel itself has an old-timey feel with things like puzzles, artwork, and a piano in the lobby. It is also pretty quiet most of the time. Out in the front, there are lawn chairs, some with tables and umbrellas which are great if you look forward to spending time outside! The parking lot is also quite large (located behind the hotel — where the reception entrance is).

In conclusion, in terms of convenience and cleanliness, this hotel definitely out-ways a lot of the hotels/inns/motels in the area. However, with regards to the price, I do think it is a tad bit unreasonable for what...

Hotel Tadoussac is a place steeped in history, and that charm remains as strong as ever. Its historical beauty and idyllic location on the shores of the St. Lawrence River are simply enchanting. It's like stepping back in time to a bygone era.

The hotel's heritage is palpable in every corner, from its classic architecture to the antique furnishings that adorn its interior. For those who appreciate a touch of nostalgia, Hotel Tadoussac delivers an authentic experience that's hard to find elsewhere.

The setting, with panoramic views of the river and the iconic Tadoussac Bay, is nothing short of breathtaking. It's an ideal location for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty.

However, it's worth noting that while the historical charm and location remain timeless, some aspects of the hotel might not have evolved much over the years. If you visited more than 15 years ago you may find some of the hotel's amenities and accommodations to be the same.

The rooms and facilities, while clean and functional, may not meet the expectations of those accustomed to more modern hotel experiences.

In summary, Hotel Tadoussac is a place where time seems to stand still, preserving the elegance of a bygone era. Its historical beauty and remarkable location are its standout features. However, if you're seeking a more up-to-date and modern hotel experience, you may find that it hasn't evolved much in terms of amenities and accommodations. Nonetheless, for those who value history and nostalgia, it remains a unique and charming...

What a shame. The Tadoussac Hotel has sooo much potential. It has spectacular grounds and an incredible view. Unfortunately, it has seriously dropped the ball on quality & services. The breakfast buffet was cold and unimaginative. Given the cost, we were expecting more than powdered scrambled eggs, greasy bacon & sausages, and day-old croissants. Lunch? Forget it. The kitchen is closed. With such a view, you’d think they would offer drinks & snacks on the front lawn (which was packed with bay-watchers). The hotel has a huge opportunity to make a ton of money and keep customers happy. But nope. Nothing provided till 4pm. One has to go elsewhere. Dinner wasn’t bad, but not great. MUCH better selections up/down the street. The rooms are comfortable but could use some TLC. Same with the elevator. On the upside, all staff were very friendly and helpful. Shame on the owners! Clearly they are just doing the bare-minimum and profiting off the hotel’s rich history. Such a beautiful & historic hotel deserves more than its current 3-Star offering.
