The good -check in was easy -bed was good -towel and sheets are clean -they have bar soap, bottle shampoo and conditioner and bottle cream For the bad, where to start... -the rooms are heavily damaged, cracks and chips all over the place -the carpet is old and has different evaluations level -the toilet is an extra small bowl so not comfortable if you're a male and having your junk keep touching the bowl -alot of racist homeless hanging out on the first floor, was not because they were staying in rooms on the first floor -the hallways smelt of weed and cigarette -people keep yelling in the hallways -the phone kept ringing multiple times during the night so I never had a good sleep at all during the two nights, it stopped when I pulled out the wire -the window was glued shut and you can see the screen for the window all broken. -hotel front desk brushed over when I requested some compensation for the horrible experience -they have a restaurant sign but no restaurant,
The location charges me $240 a night and it is heavily overpriced for the value, the price has been believed it will be equivalent to a holiday inn but really it was closer to a super 8 motel in quality.
Please don't let annoying racist homeless in...
Read moreThe staff in the hotel are extremely courteous and helpful available 24x7 at the reception. Shout out to Cindy who helped us with great food options in Downtown Yellowknife and her reference to coyote's pub offered us a discount as well. Cindy is extremely supportive.
Unfortunately as the hotel is old in construction as confirmed by the staff themselves hence it does have several defects. The room number 210's bathroom door lock doesn't work. The latch and groove are misaligned so it will never lock. So you cannot lock your bathroom. We had a tough time staying 5 days in that room without a bathroom lock. We did notify it to the reception but furniture work can't be fixed soon.. unfortunately we weren't offered a different room instead that was disappointing. The room service and housekeeping is offered but you need to notify 24hours in advance and room service isn't provided on weekends that was pretty much unexpected and we didn't get room service at all as we came to know the 24hour policy on Friday.
Apart from the above mentioned flaws the hotel is fine. They did help us in storing our luggage as we had airport pickup after...
Read moreThis place while having a restaurant with pretty good food has MANY problems with how the hotel is run. During my stay, the police was called on my first morning to escort a very intoxicated gentleman that was causing a scene from the building, who also threw up all over the public bathroom. The staff walking the halls at night being awfully loud yelling on the phone, staff writing extremely inappropriate messages on the walls about other employees, and trying to get back inside the hotel in the night might be a problem since the desk might just not have anyone there to let us in for 10 minutes out in the freezing cold. Not to mention the way management treats staff and former staff. Overall the place wouldn’t be so bad if the management took care of the place properly and didn’t mistreat staff to the point they are writing profanities in the public elevator and all over the walls. The rooms were okay, and the best part about the whole place is the beds. Not to mention the horrendous wifi that is basically...
