The Red Apple Restaurant — Restaurant in Yellowknife

I am writing a review for my mother who was in to the restaurant recently. She went for breakfast with her nephew and ordered scrambled eggs and rye toast. They brought her scrambled egg whites, which she did not ask for and two crusts of the rye bread. She asked for them to be returned and that she wanted normal scrambled eggs. She was told "Well, they're cheaper (the plain egg whites) They never brought her the scrambled eggs as requested and still charged her for the meal which was left un-eaten. My mother is 81 years old. Is this fair to do to an elder?!? It is not for the restaurant to decide what price she is willing to pay for her meal and it is their responsibility to provide good service. The customer is always right! Our family will NEVER go to this...

I stumbled upon this hidden gem, Red Apple, while traveling in Yellowknife! The atmosphere is warm and cozy, the service is friendly and attentive, and the food is absolutely amazing. The combination of Chinese and Western dishes is very well balanced, and both the beef noodles and breakfast sandwiches leave you craving more. Especially on those cold Arctic nights, having a steaming bowl of soup feels like pure bliss!

I highly recommend their homestyle dishes and specialty drinks. The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. I’ll definitely come back next time I visit Yellowknife to see the Northern Lights! I strongly recommend it to anyone visiting...

For some reason there's terrible reviews. I have been a regular there for years. I go there about once a month. Not a single complaint. Service is quick and friendly. The food tastes great and all of their dishes are always spotless and hot i might add from their washing machine i assume. Buffets are always re stocked whenever there's a shortage and the washroom's always clean.

Some might add that they sit at tables and stuff sometimes. But what they dont get is that its pretty much their home. Its a family run resturaunt i believe. They're people not machines. Why feel awkward? Yeah they're not professionals but they come fast, serve friendly and the food...
