Holiday Inn Express Iquique — Hotel in Iquique

Arrived at the hotel and the staff was very helpful but got the wrong key for my room and had to go up and down twice! They wrote 421 and my room was 241, which did not help after a long flight from Europe. Staff however, were kind and apologetic. Room was a good size, towels maybe a bit oldish and could do with newer ones. The room overlooked the interior garden, which was lovely during the day but awful at night when people stayed up drinking & chatting until 3:30 am! Called reception a couple of times but no answer. One night the alarm went off right next to my door! Breakfast was very crowded for the size of the dining place with children being far too loud (and some with no table manners and oblivious parents). Anyway, this is something to consider for the administration and maybe close for solo travellers in the summer time? We can say all the good things like the hotel is clean, well kept and pretty much what you want and expect when you travel. Which is true about this hotel. It is safe and the view is beautiful. |The BIG picture is the people that take making our stay warm, comfortable and personable. |Javier,Constanta,Carolina, Constanta, Nicol and others are some of the best people we have had the pleasure to be with. Even though we are from Texas and my Spanish was terrible they were very helpful and took ownership to make me feel as a valued person. It’s hard to find this many caring people in one place like this. |My suggestion to anyone that comes to Iquique needs to stay here you will not regret the stay. I stayed at this Holiday Inn Express in early December. It is obvious that they have recently renovated as all of the furnishings in the guest rooms and public areas are new. The service is excellent from the front desk to the people at the breakfast area each morning. The food was delicious and they even have a small market with additional food options for lunch or dinner. I found these to be of excellent quality and delicious.
