Viva Chile Hostal Puerto Varas — Hotel in Puerto Varas

I arrived to the property a couple of minutes before 22:00 (end of checking time) but there was nobody at reception. I tried to contact them via WhatsApp. But no answer (read on). Some guests let me in when they saw me waiting outside. They told me the receptionist had gone 30minutes before that. Meanwhile, I get a WhatsApp message. The owner told me they could see me on camera and I should leave. They said checking was until 22:00 so I could not check in now. I was not happy with the (lack of) service, and being left with nowhere to go late at night! Beware to get there in plenty of time if...

Rooms has water soaking through the walls and floor because it's not insulated properly. Thin walls so not very quiet. Roof above us was worked on while we where being there which didn't help with the noise.. But maybe will help with the wet walls in the future?

The hostel it's near the center but lacks a lot of service and attention: half towel paper in the bathroom, no lighter for lighting up the gas stove in the kitchen, and no service at all of the receptionist (Saturday and Sunday) just because it was week end.
