Hostal Petit Verdot is a charming and comfortable place to stay right in Santa Cruz--not to close to the center but not far away, giving it a lovely, secluded feel. The location cannot be beat. There is ample parking and one can get to the plaza by foot in minutes. Additionally, we found that the location was perfect for visiting the many vineyards in the area, with great access to the main thoroughfares yet a little set back, so we did not get noise from the street and could enjoy quiet nights!||||What makes Petit Verdot such a gem are the owners. They are the most gracious hosts and provided service beyond what we expected. They went out of their way to help my friend and I with our stay and our visits in and around the Colchagua Valley. Thanks to them and their lovely hostal, we had such a great time in Santa Cruz and in the valley. It was definitely difficult to leave. ||||The breakfast in the morning was an impressive spread of the freshest fruits, juices, cheese, bread, and coffee. I am still dreaming of the grapes that we enjoyed on both mornings--so fresh and fragrant! The breakfast area has tasteful decor and is spotless. There is a courtyard garden with patio tables as well. Also, the owners were present and served us breakfast, which was a nice touch. One can tell that they are the most thoughtful owners, and put much care into the property and did not overlook any details. The rooms are lovely and spacious, with elegant decor and cozy beds. The bathroom was definitely my favorite--it was large and had a great bathtub and beautiful floor tiles.||||I highly recommend this property for a visit to Santa Cruz and touring the fine wineries of the Colchagua Valley. I will definitely stay at Hostal Petit...
Read moreWe happened upon this little B&B style hotel close to the central part of Santa Cruz, by chance just in passing by. The place was almost completely empty, so we got two adjoining rooms with a huge bathroom. Our landlady was very kind to offer me her clothesline. Unfortunately, she also took my clothes in and hung them up in our cupboard where I promptly forgot them. I have written to the hotel, but I have yet to hear back.||Breakfast was okay but not great. The bread was awful ( re-heated frozen soda buns) and the coffee was instant. Surely a small drip machine can improve that.||The courtyard have a ramada covered in grapevines.||The vineyard of Santa Cruz is by far not to be missed, and very close by. The town's famous museum, is...
