My "very good" rating is relative and based on what can reasonably be expected when staying in a place like Temuco, which is a working-class city whose main function for tourists is as a bus transfer stop. I arrived at Tribu Piren late at night after reading about it in Lonely Planet Chile. It was nondescript and a bit difficult to find, even for the taxi driver, but once inside I felt very comfortable. The gentleman who received me was friendly, the rate for a private room with a shared bathroom was cheap, and there was a lock on the door and power outlets. The bathroom was clean and I didn't have any trouble with the hot water. In the morning a continental breakfast was provided, as were good directions to the bus station.
