We booked this hotel because it has good rating and the pictures looks nice. Don't get me wrong, it would be nice but you don't know how good they are until there is a problem. That's what we experience and they're terrible. We got to the hotel around 7:00pm and they told us our room didn't have hot water so they "upgraded" us to another room at no charge. Then they took us to a room with a queen size bed and a stow away bed (we have 3 people). I booked the hotel via Hotels.com (prepaid) well in advance so I didn't remember right away what kind of room I booked. Later when we able to connect to WiFi and I realized I had booked a family loft room. The loft room has two real beds in the loft and the ground floor has a sofa, much more room and my son wouldn't have to sleep on the stow away bed. I told the front desk the room I got is NOT an upgrade and I should get some refund for the smaller room. They front desk told me they need to check with the manager. What they offer me was one free breakfast. I don't even want to have breakfast there in the first place. So I chatted with Hotels.com. They call the hotel and they still not willing to give me some money back. Hotels.com ended up gave me coupon for future booking.||Put the issue aside, the hotel is nice, very historic, look clean. They have maid service daily. The location is not an ideal. It's quite far from the subway station. It's also far inside a small narrow oneway alley, very difficult for taxi. There aren't many/any good places for food near by. They aren't lying about the hot water. Even in the room they gave us, water only get warm when turn all they hot, just barely enough for shower. Despite the cleanness of the hotel, I can smell raw sewage in the bathroom. That's because the sink drainage is not properly installed. They didn't install the P-Trap to block the smell from the sewer. I have to improvise by keeping water in the sink.||The bottom line is, even without the problem I have, I still wouldn't stay at this hotel because bad...
Read moreWe stayed for 4 nights, had 2 rooms booked for myself & husband, the other for our daughter & partner. Our room was larger, we took one with two twin beds, but had an additional desk and more area overall than daughter's room, which featured Queen bed, small table.|Everything was clean & orderly.|Staff spoke good English, and were very accommodating. I would most certainly recommend any of the 161 hotels in the Wangfujing hutong, as we saw the others, and they are all good. |This is considered as a budget hotel, however, so plan accordingly and don't expect the Ritz.|It's in a great location, metro station 2 min. walk, and other branded hotels in the same area will cost up to 5 x more. You can walk to Forbidden City from here, about 1/2 hour...that's how close.|Boil your own drinking water with kettle provided in room, or purchase at shop at end of street.|For the great price, we can't...
Read moreBad. Really DISAPPOINTING hotel, or more precisely, a hostel. I can bearly find out any good point:
water not hot and very weak !! 2.internet weak. 3. no elevator !!4. air condition loud. 5. dirty stair to access the second floor. 6.very low level bathroom. every equipment is cheap. even the shampoo squizer is not convenient to use. 7. You can hear everything very clearly in this hostel. 8,9,10...
We are still lucky that we changed to another room on the second floor but no elevator. Cuz the first room we had is on the ground floor, basically without window or with a window towards a passager place. You can never open the window or no privacy at all. And there is a slightly wet smell like cat shit. Not sure what it is.
Beijing trip is really tiring. This hostel just made me not feel like going home rest.
Booking didnt allow bad comments but we have to...
