The Park Plaza ... has pizazz-a!
If you like your hotel to have flair, this place is for you.
This place was a great place to stay in Beijing. The was clean, quaint but stylish, conveniently located and quiet! The staff was very helpful (most spoke English, and some were very fluent) and the complementary breakfast was one of the best that I have had in Asia. The breakfast catered to both eastern (curries, dumplings and rice) and western (eggs, pancakes and bacon)dining tastes and was very well prepared.
The rooms were clean and the bathroom had a full bath, in tub shower and western style toilet. The hotel was walking distance away from local convenience stores, Starbucks Coffee and several shopping malls.
The hotel was kid friendly and also has room service (which we dined on two nights out of our stay). The room service food menu had something for everyone. I would give this hotel a 5 out of 5 stars but one night when we ordered room service, they brought the dishes in waves as opposed to all at once, which meant our family ate in shifts as opposed to all together. I believe it was due to a new “trainee” making a rookie mistake. The hotel staff did their best to fix the situation and gave us complimentary deserts. I highly recommend this hotel! Read moreI booked for a 4 night stay based on location and recommendations. It's a pleasant surprise coz it's better than expected. The service staff is good and speaks English. It's also clean, homely and friendly.
But the best must be it's location.
If you walk out of the 'back' exit of the hotel, you'll reach Exit C of the metro station Deng Shi Kou on Line 5 in 3 minutes. If you then walk further towards the main street, you'll see several shops and eating places like Wagas and Holliday. You'll also see Exit A of Deng Shi Kou. At night, there'll be hawkers along this short stretch as well.
Lastly, the Airport Bus stops at the Car park just outside Exit C of the Deng Shi Kou metro and next to The Regent Hotel. Roll your luggage and board the bus for the airport for 25 Yuan. Bus departs hourly. Last bus leaves 7pm.
Hope the above...
