Wonderful stay at the Four Seasons Beijing and we have great memories from this amazing hotel. Excellent pre arrival communication via app and email with the concierges, responsive and informed. Great location Chaoyang - close to all tourist areas by DiDi but out of the touristic fray and very local - beautiful canal walk and restaurants around and behind the hotel. As well, some of the best restaurants in Beijing are in this neighborhood.
While the hotel is a little dated in terms of style (early 2000s - renovations are on the boards) the upkeep is immaculate and the artwork throughout is spectacular (look closer at the nail and thread mural in the dining room, the brush paintings everywhere). Rooms have everything you want: lots of space, a great bed, powerful drenching rain shower, fabulous bath with a view, and lovely turndown amenities. Substance over style (although the style is ultimately fine). The lounge is excellent and worth it. The Pool is worth a visit for downtime - decent size for indoor upper level, great views and nice hot tub.
As expected with Four Seasons, the staff is amazing, a credit to GM Lily Wang (who is fabulous and wonderful in her own right!). Warm, enthusiastic, friendly, professional, no request was ever too great and where English was a bit difficult they always made the effort. Leo and Chris at the concierge desk, Rebecca with Guest Relations and her intern, the team at all the restaurants, the lovely Cathy’s in the lounge, effective service with such warmth, humor and grace.
The restaurants are really really good. The breakfast buffet had extensive Chinese and western choices. The wontons, fresh tofu, dimsum all very good. Lunch is great too - best hainanese chicken rice ever! Dinner at Cai Yi Xuan - fantastic. Wonderful, friendly, professional staff and superior food.
Tours through the hotel are a must do. Our guide Lucy was excellent, the car and driver were great (BMW 7). Did the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and the Olympics Site. She adjusted the set tours we took to our needs, helped with getting cell data set up, gave good recommendations for activities. Lucy was knowledgeable and fun, freely shared her own experiences of life in China which gave an intimate personal perspective on the historical narrative of the places we visited.
Last but not least Lily, the modest, lovely and amazing GM of this Four Seasons, along with her excellent team, gave us memories to last a lifetime. Many thanks and...
Read moreWe stayed at the Four Seasons Beijing twice over the past three weeks, and both visits were nothing short of exceptional. From the moment you enter, the hotel works like clockwork. The attention to detail is second to none — from the beautifully curated floral displays in the lobby (which change regularly) to the quiet efficiency with which everything operates.
The hotel is perfectly located next to a peaceful river, ideal for morning or evening walks. During our second stay, we had a suite on the 19th floor with breathtaking views of the city. It was vast, immaculately maintained, and incredibly comfortable — from the cloud-like bed to the perfectly balanced pillows and quilt.
A special mention goes to the staff, who are genuinely some of the best we’ve encountered anywhere. On our first visit, Fred at the front desk was particularly helpful. During our second stay, we had the pleasure of meeting Arvin, who looks after food and beverage together with a lady whose name we didn’t catch but couldn’t have been more friendly. The breakfast service, under their watch, ran like a swan gliding over water — serene, seamless, and superb. The food selection was top-notch and the staff were consistently kind and attentive. Adele and others made sure every detail was just right during our stay and truly helped make our stay magical. To the people who cleaned our room day after day, thank you for being so careful and diligent.
Even early in the morning, the standard didn’t drop. I was at the gym at 6am with no one else around, yet a staff member had thoughtfully prepared a jug of cold water with ice and lemon, just for me. That kind of thoughtfulness says everything.
We’ve stayed in four different hotels over the past few weeks and nothing came close to the level of service, quality, and care we experienced here. This was our first time at a Four Seasons and it has definitely left a lasting impression — one that will have us seeking out more Four Seasons properties in the future. If they match this standard, we’re in for a treat.
Keep up the...
Read moreHaving previously stayed at several Four Seasons properties and experienced their renowned service culture, our expectations for this stay were understandably high - unfortunately, the hotel didn’t quite live up to them. ||On the positive side, our room was classy, elegant, and very clean, with a spacious and well-designed bathroom. Housekeeping stood out as one of the most impressive aspects of our stay, displaying exceptional attention to detail and care. The breakfast was another highlight, with a wide variety of both local and international dishes, and the service there was attentive and efficient. We also truly enjoyed the SPA, which offered breathtaking panoramic views of the city and excellent sauna and jacuzzi facilities. ||However, several aspects fell short of what one expects from the Four Seasons brand. Our dinner at the hotel’s Chinese fine dining restaurant was disappointing - service was disorganized, with dishes not served simultaneously for all guests at the table, and major items like duck and chicken were unavailable, leaving us with limited options despite good taste. The Club Lounge experience was especially disappointing. While the food selection was a highlight, offering a wide variety of local dishes and some excellent Chinese red wine, the service was far below expectations. Despite four attendants being present, one spent time playing on their phone while two others were engaged in a private conversation. This left only one person actually attending to guests. There was little to no attention to detail, and the atmosphere felt unprofessional and disengaged - by far the weakest Club Lounge service experience we've had. Lastly, although our room was clean and maintained, it showed clear signs of aging, with poor window insulation and several features in need of renovation. ||We sincerely hope to see improvements in the future and that the brand’s high standards will be more consistently implemented across all areas of the...
