I spent a 7-week period in the Guangming Hotel, which was booked for me by my company. The room was a little small for storage of all my business clutter, and the (free) WiFi was frustratingly slow at times. But otherwise it was an excellent place for an extended stay - and, although few staff could speak English, I took the trouble always to greet and smile at them, and they were friendly and helpful in return. A good buffet breakfast is included in the room charge, and there are 2 restaurants within the hotel - one Chinese and the other Japanese. There are many eating places in nearby Lucky Street and Solana Lifestyle Park, the hotel has its own 7/11 convenience store, and there is a small supermarket very close by. It doesn't take long to walk to the nearest station giving access to Beijing's extensive subway (metro) system. A few technical problems occurred with my room, as one might expect during a stay of almost 2 months, but they were always sorted out on the day I reported them. In summary, I have pleasure in...

Read moreI stayed here for 2 nights for business. It is about a 4 star hotel, by Western standards.||||The rooms are comfortable, but the beds are very firm. I like firm, but even by my standards it was very hard. Good amount of space in room, clean, but needs new carpets. Breakfast is usual hotel fare, western and Asian cuisine. I had breakfast at 7am, everything was hot and OK, I did not have the problem that other reviewers mentioned, maybe better early in the morning.||||Please note the hotel is in room wifi, but a lot of the western websites are blocked in China. Could not use google or facetime.||||Short walk to the subway, which is one of the best in the world. Fast frequent trains, modern, clean stations.||||Short walk to road with a lot of restaurants to try, turn left after exiting the hotel. There is a convenience store on site, which helps for those...
