Stayed 2N in a Club Deluxe King Room (buffet breakfast incl), overlooking the Ancestral Temple area and Lingnan Tiandi pedestrian area. Room is very spacious (Club rooms are at top 2 levels, 15 and 16, with Club Lounge on 15).
Pro Room is very new, including electric bidet in toilet, and usb a / c charging ports on both sides of bed Location is 5min walk southwest to Ancestral Temple entrance (Wong Fei Hung Memorial, Ip Man Hall - fyi, passport equiv identification required to purchase tickets, even online) and 3min (via hotel back entrance) to Lingnan Tiandi pedestrian shopping street Slightly Club privilege (afternoon tea (1430 - 1630) had limited items, happy hour (1700 - 2000) had better spread and more alcohol choices) Breakfast @ Lvl 3 (0630 - 1030) spread is good, with live cooking stations 10min walk to other shopping areas eg Nova plaza, 八图里 (Shake Shack); 清暉园 Qing Hui Yuan (a curated garden with seasonal flora) is about 45mins drive away
Con We arrived with 3 pieces of large luggage, our driver called out to a staff (who was sweeping the road 10m away), but was roundly ignored. We let the staff focus on the important road sweeping task at hand, so we unloaded on our own. Shower room only has 1 lever to control both water temperature and pressure at same time (which means you can only have hot and strong water flow, or cold and weak flow). The water pressure is also not strong enough, and the rainshower shows (ie water is not continuous, comes out in spurts). Handheld spray is also non standard / long form. All in, rather lacking shower experience given quality of other room amenities In room smart TV is hit and miss, sometimes the cable service works, sometimes it doesn't
Cordis is a great base to explore Foshan, especially for couples.
PS Daily martial arts and liondance showcase at Ancestral Temple starts at 10am, for a 40min duration (next 2 shows in afternoon around 2pm and 4pm), suggest you get your tickets in advance (CNY4 / pax), and reach the area by 0930 (for...
Read moreThere is no space for shower and one had to stand (1) one has to stand in the bath tub to take a shower which was dangerous for my aged mother and less mobile brother as bath tub was too small for them to sit, and one also has to raised one’s leg to cross the bath tub. Service was appalling as staffs are mostly argumentative and unwilling to serve. (2) ordered extra water for my room but it was delivered to my mum’s room. both rooms have an adjoining door. as i didnt aee the water i requested i ask the service staff who then answered arent both rooms the same since you are joined? And the staff continues to argue its the same despite i called from my room phone requesting water. (3) when on the way to go to lingnan tiandi, i ask a service staff (joey or zoe) at the bar which way should i walk, its shown in pictures as quaint old houses with many restaurants, she gave me a puzzling stare and annoyed face as if i am bothering her, i asked again and she shrugged her shoulders and said she doesnt know, i have to walk out and find myself. (4) toilet has a stench which permeates the room especially at night (5) bath toilet has a smell which makes it uncomfortable for one to use The service level at Cordis is the worse i have even experience in china with extremely rude, passionless, defensive staffs who finds the clients bothersome. I will not return to this hotel ever despite its given...

Then she considered my need and upgraded me to a suite with two bedrooms and so I can take care of them both closely. 2)Beds: it is very firm and husband said it was very supportive for his back3)The room very spacious, food delivery from meituen goes directly to the room by robot4), room is very clean5) the slippers and robes are soft 6) swimming pool clean and warm water (rmb to bring swim cap)Cons: the pillows were a bit too soft for me2)The doors of the shower has a little crack so the floor is very wet and slippery after shower3) the air con vent blows directly to the top of the head on bed causing headache 4)the two bedroom is not within same roof so need to walk in a rain a bit to get to the second room.Location is perfect. Go out the south door of the hotel then across is Lingnan tindai and the temple within 5mins. It literally is across the street only. Basic don't need to travel anywhere to get all the food and attractions. Pictures are from...
