Ausotel Smart Collection Hotel Zhujiang New Town — Hotel in Guangzhou City

I booked a stay in Guangzhou, with a big event happening at the same time. I wanted to get a nice hotel, so booked a month in advance and my stay was confirmed. However, a few days later as the hotel prices got more expensive, the hotel decided it ”can’t accomodate me” anymore, but were able to offer the same room, in the same hotel, but for a higher price. At this point I contacted booking.com customer service asking for assistance, and they promised they would help me, and I would get similar accommodation in the same area, if the hotel can’t accommodate me with the original price. The hotel would have to pay for the price difference.

After this it seems, the hotel decided it would “let me stay” so the issue was over until they decided to flag my card as unvalid. It is listed that the hotel accepts VISA, I had money on my card, international transactions are allowed and other hotels in China accepted it with no issue. I tried inputting it again and the hotel declined it again. I switched the card and the hotel canceled. It seems that they were trying to go around what customer service had told them before, and cancel my booking without having to pay.

After this I called customer service, and they said they would find other accommodation for me, which was worse than this one, and this hotel is apparently off the hook for paying for a price difference. DO NOT TRUST THIS HOTEL WITH YOU BOOKING especially if you booked for...

I had a fantastic stay at Austra Select Hotel Zhujiang New Town, Tianhe, Guangzhou during my visit to the Canton Fair. The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way, making my business trip smooth and comfortable.The location is excellent—conveniently situated in Zhujiang New Town, with easy access to the Canton Fair venue and the city’s business districts. The transport links are superb, making it easy to get around.The service was outstanding. The front desk staff were professional, welcoming, and always ready to assist. Check-in was quick and efficient, and they even offered helpful advice for navigating the fair. My room was modern, clean, and well-equipped, providing a quiet and comfortable environment after long days at the exhibition.Breakfast was varied and delicious, with a good mix of Western and local options. Booked the family room for 2 adults and 2 kids quite last minute and this turn out to be a great choice.The hotel location is in Tianhe District and there are a lot of restaurants and convenient shops along the hotel which opens till late at night.The hotel lobby is located on a 5th floor which is a bit inconvenient but regardless with other plus point this makes it less issue.The room is clean and spacious with modern design. All amenities are complete and the room condition is well maintained. Guest laundry is also available but limited units which takes a bit of time to clean. There are also some bricks toys available for younger kids. There are 2 tvs to share and sound proof of the room is good which is important as downstairs streets are busy.Overall a very satistified stay and will certainly recommend for all travellers whether...
