MaxX by Steigenberger Guangzhou Zhujiang New Town — Hotel in Guangzhou City

I really recommend this hotel. The location is central, hotel is decorated in a French style and with a kind of a nautical theme (if you don't like that style, then maybe this hotel isn't for you - but I liked it). The atmosphere in the hallways is a bit like being on a luxurious cruise ship. But here are a few things that raised the hotel experience above ordinary:🌟 Easy and swift check-in process, even for a foreigner. Front desk staff also spoke some English. So if you're a foreigner, don't hesitate to choose this hotel 😊🌟 Free mini-bar in the room, and free refreshments in the lobby lounge 24 hrs a day - snacks, coffees and soft drinks around the clock, and also wine available in the afternoon🌟 You can order this cute robot to deliver some snacks and small travel items directly to your door! Really bad decision to choose this hotel. We enter the room and the air conditioning was not working on cooling at the same time a really bad smell in the room.We left the room for meeting and we have asked the front office to have a look and fix the problem.We returned after 5 hours and we asked them if the problem was solved, they confirmed YES.As soon we enter the room the situation was the same, we called them up.It took 20 minutes to respond and the technician came to inform us that there is a problem and there are no other rooms to change.We took our suitcases and we told them we are moving out.Suddenly vacant rooms appeared and they could be used.The next day we left the room at 9:00 and returned 17:00 surprisingly the room was not clean.They mentioned they forgotten to do so…This hotel has terrible standards and really bad service.The worst experience we had in China...

I usually book Sofitel Sunrich after the exhibition but no room was available. |What a disappointment , this hotel is very far from expected standard and not really foreigners friendly. It’s a typical Chinese hotel : messy and very time consuming check in, weird room set-up as you enter directly in the bathroom, view on... my neighbour’s bedroom , tv settings all in Chinese and so on.|The worst part was probably breakfast served at the Chinese and only restaurant which belongs to a third party ! |I would like to mention about positive points like free mini bar and the lobby lounge but unfortunately this is not what I am going to remember about that place.|If you are used this this hotel group standards, just stay away from that place or give them time to adjust as the place...
