Overall I was satisfied with the room and the hotel in general. Even though the staff doesn't speak English very well, we managed to communicate ok.I stayed in a room on the 2nd floor. The room was ok overall, big size and clean, although the window was very small and did not reflect the picture of the room showed at the time of booking. Unfortunately there was a very very bad smell in the room, like sewer smell coming mainly from the toilet, but it was in the whole room. I let the air circulate and it got much better, but the smell was still strong in the toilet. The smell was disgusting, maintenance staff should definitely do something about it.I would have appreciated having tea spoons provided in the room (regular metal cutlery, not the single use stuff please, it's a 4 stars hotel).Theres not much in the area, if you want to go out by foot for dinner it's not so easy to find restaurants and facilities.In the hotel there is a mini market though, very convenient and there is also a decent gym, nothing crazy but it's 24 hours, and has couple machines and...

This is an affordable hotel who want a quieter part of Shanghai but not too far away from the buzz of the city. The staff are very friendly, sweet and helpful. Check in was very swift in the lobby, and they even have a coffee machine for guests to use; an excellent touch! The room itself is spacious with a comfortable bed, large shower, bathroom and even an ironing board. Overall it was very clean. Only one complaint. The pillowcases were changed, however the bedsheets were not changed and we had to request someone to bring us fresh sheets. However, it was an honest mistake and the lobby was very helpful to change it: no problem.Breakfast was average. I liked the 小笼包 and my wife loved the 娃娃菜. Nothing special, just standard breakfast. But the coffee was excellent as always.Overall, would recommend this place if people want an affordable hotel with excellent service....
