I would say the hotel have improve themselves for the past 2 weeks.
I have stayed around 12 days with them this time.
The staff has become more efficient and they do have more staff during the day but I think some of the staff can be station in the night when there is an exhibition or high occupancy period.
One of the night when I arrived around 11pm, there is only one staff there dong registering of guest while there are another two guest waiting.
International customers like my guest from Germany are tired when they flew 12 hours plus waiting time and taxi to hotel. total 16 hours They would expect a pleasant and nice check in atmosphere but when there is along queue and slow in check in, it is very bad.
Some IHG hotel and other branded hotel got free water or tea to be serve to customers while they are waiting. Even some Holiday Inn express have coffee machine.
Today's world is very competitive. And we need good customer service o stay ahead.
Anyway I saw some improvement already I hope it would be much better when I come to stay...
Read moreI was sick on Sat morning. I took some medication and had put up the Do Not Disturb sign at the door. And the housekeeping manager rang my door bell at 10am in the morning when I was sleeping just to ask whether housekeeping for my room had been done! This is totally unacceptable. After that there were renovation noise on and off in the morning and I couldn't sleep any more.
Other problem with the hotel:
breakfast was below average by Holiday Inn standard
the hotel is quite old
the light switches are messed up, not intuitive, didn't know how to turn off the emergency light which was very bright throughout the night
no exec lounge for premium members
the room that they upgraded me to was small
room facing not good, very close to the apartment units at the opposite building
gym is very simple, not much variety of equipment
Hotel WiFi is slow, the firewall is blocking most of the international websites, making everything slow, even their own IHG website is slow to load.

Read moreThis hotel is newly converted to Holiday Inn, I understand it is still in the process of reaching International Holiday inn service level. The check-in took way too long in the priority lane. I have waited 15-20 min and she still chatting with the customer in front. No greetings for Spire Elite member. I told her she took too long to check in one person, she didn't even respond and just ignore my complaint. Disappointment totally!
Is not good that this hotel does not have a club lounge and even worst without a bar for evening drinks.
