JI Hotel Zhaojiabang Road — Hotel in Shanghai

The hotel is quite modern, clean and spacious. The same is true for the rooms, which are clean, well furnished and quiet. If I wouldn't have had some issues with the staff, I would have given the hotel a higher rating. ||At 1 am, somebody from the reception knocked on my door and said my room "ran out of money". I had paid when I checked so I said I've paid the agreed fee and he shouldn't come and ask money in the middle of the night. But he insisted, so I went down to the reception where the staff was having a discussion. They said again that "the room ran out of money". I got quite upset and started calling my travel agency. Then suddenly they showed me the laundry bill which I had paid the day before. I told them that I had paid everything. So suddenly there was no problem anymore. I got a new roomkey (they apparently had blocked the roomkey I had). Very unprofessional to wake someone up in the middle of the night for nothing (or for some of their mistakes). Found this hotel before xhs/tiktok! heard good reviews and decided with this location as apparently they have multiple locations at different areas. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room is pretty big and really love the technology function to operate the room - open tv, turn off lights etc. the toilet is spacious for 3 of us and just love everything about it! The laundry room is amazing too! With a total of 8 washer and dryers! Easy to operate and staff do come by and clean the place and keeping it neat! Breakfast has good selections and the best is the ones you order from the lady who cook noodles/dumplings! I was here for a business trip and this was the hotel I was put up in.||Since it was a working trip, all I really needed was here: clean, quiet room with a good area to work in, a comfortable bed, breakfast in the morning and wifi that was consistent and faster than I'm used to in Australia.||It would have been nice to have a mini bar but since I would have mostly used it to store my own drinks or food it wasn't really a dealbreaker.||The clientele seemed mostly Chinese - and mostly on business trips.||Being so close to the subway is a major bonus.||Having zero Mandarin was a bit of a problem (mine, not theirs), but I generally was able to get what I needed in terms of...
