One night. Functional. Reasonable value. Hotel is a bit ‘dated’ but in a historic 1937 postmodern building. Family suite room clean and well appointed, I asked for the additional bed and housekeeping fixes up very nicely. The 3 breakfasts were included in the price . Typical Chinese breakfast buffet, with a good coffee machine, fortunately because one in the room did not work or I couldn’t figure it out. Bed not too hard by chinese standards, I like soft but I found it comfortable nonetheless. Slight odor of cigarettes smoke in the room and corridors, even though it’s a nonsmoking room. But that’s China. |The front desk staff are friendly and try to be efficient and helpful. The checking in took somewhat more time than the usual, mostly due to the requirements to input details from our foreign passport, visas, etc, so this is probably an onerous government mandate. Overall I do recommend this hotel for value and convenience if you want to be in this area. Location on the Yan’an road made catching a Didi or taxi quick and easy to board. My cc deposit was returned quickly on the card at checkout. I’ll probably...

I received an upgrade to a suite. Bed was very comfortable.|I was a bit worried that it would be too loud due to the traffic but the bedroom had noise reduction windows and I slept like a rock 😀.|Breakfast was with sufficient choice - I only wish that eggs would be made fresh to order.|There is also kind of a daily gathering for happy hour in the afternoon with free drinks.||I would recommend booking a room with balcony - these are always to the garden side and hence any traffic noise would be reduced compared to the rooms...
Read moreI have regularly stayed at this hotel this year. It is a smaller boutique hotel in a good location, with reasonable access (10 min walk) to metro and an express bus service (#71) that runs between HongQiao and The Bund. ALSO - the metro line to Disney connects at the local stop, so can get out there in ~40 minutes. Rooms have interesting design, comfortable beds, and are relatively quiet considering the location next to an expressway. The staff is helpful. There is a small, well maintained gym on the 7th floor that doesn't have a lot of equipment, but more than adequate for my needs. Gym gets very little use. An evening happy hour 4-6PM with complimentary beer and wine. It checks all the boxes for what I look for in a moderately priced...
