Da Marco — Restaurant in Shanghai

Looking for a Western, and in particular Italian, restaurant, we found this gem. The photos and reviews didn’t do it justice. A bit nervous arriving in a taxi as to whether we would ask him to turn round and take us back to our hotel, we got out and the place looked so much nicer than we thought.

A delicious bread basket was delivered to the table along with water. They had both Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio by the glass (a rarity). The food was delicious and then we were presented with a glass of limoncello each.

The ambiance was great and the price definitely affordable by Shanghai standards. Will definitely come again next time we...

Very disappointed.. I came here just for meet the Chef because as I'm italian I wanted to meet a person that have a restaurant but after hours on the bus I came and he's not even here.. This restaurant is a true institution in Shanghai, having been around for ages. The food, service, and interior are top-notch, rivaled by only a few other Italian places in the city. They offer a wide variety of dishes, including pizza and pasta, along with an extensive wine selection. While the prices are a bit higher, you're paying for a superior dining experience.
