Arrived as part of a tour group to this new hotel, but our guide did not accompany us to check in. Four staff at reception but we were ignored by three staff who were free, so all had to queue until the sole worker was free. He then referred us to one of the three idle staff members! Limited or no English. Handed room key but no directions, apparently there are several room blocks & floors, so had to return to reception again when we couldn’t locate our room. Although our ground floor room was at the far end of a long corridor, we could hear reception staff skylarking loudly through our closed door. The guest car park was right outside our room. Suggest earplugs could be needed. Room itself comfortable but appears unfinished, unless raw concrete is their idea of modern industrial design - no floor coverings, no wall tiles, rough concrete ceiling, no towel rails, clear glass to toilet & shower (needs frosting). Entire complex appears to have been hurriedly constructed, possibly to cater to nearby Disney World about to open nearby (note ungrouted foundation bricks, & rough installation of external pipes etc). Hand-held shower rose is mounted level with taps, about waist level, so only one hand available to wash yourself. Free water bottles were tiny, only 300ml each compared with much larger bottles in other hotels. One western teabag, no milk or milk powder sachet. On day two of our stay, used toiletries were not replaced, nor face washers. But worst of all is the restaurant. Numerous staff but no staff member spoke any English, they literally ran around in a disorganised state, using interpretation apps on their phones to communicate, not always successfully. We observed most westerners were up & down to the counter to ask where their meals were, or asking for cutlery etc. Although spacious & modern, the expensive menu for westerners is very limited, all based on rice & noodles with minimal meat & veg. Our order was lost, then when we reordered it appears our dishes were given to other western guests who had arrived 20 minutes after us. So another reorder & further wait. Then only my dish arrived. Halfway through my husband asked for his dish. I had finished mine before his arrived. Our different noodle dishes were bland, mine was a soup & I needed to request soy sauce to flavour it, which I don’t usually use. My husband’s was very oily, almost inedible. We noted Chinese guests had a much more extensive menu, @ half the western prices we heard. Breakfast was better, although all egg dishes were very oily. Mostly Chinese food. We spent two nights here, the location is rather isolated. From our observations the nearest food alternatives were 1km or more away. Would recommend guests eat elsewhere or bring...

I feel like this hotel has been treated unfairly by some previous reviews. This hotel is situated about 18 miles from tourist town, so of course the staff will speak Chinese, you're in China, so have a little more patience. ||The rooms are huge and stylish, with extremely comfortable beds. The bare concrete, as mentioned by a previous reviewer, is a deliberate design choice that makes the rooms very modern.||I also noted that someone mentioned a handheld shower. If they had bothered to look up they would have noticed the huge waterfall shower above their heads that every room is equipped with.||Whilst the rooms are great, the location is not. This is not a hotel for tourists, unless the only thing youve come for is Disneyland, which the hotel provides a bus for. There is no Metro station nearby so its not easy to get to the centre of Shanghai. ||Also, if you are western and ask for a restaurant you will be directed to the smaller more expensive western restaurant onsite, but there is a cheaper, local option onsite so you can insist on going there. It is all in Mandarin though, so again just use some patience.||The rooms are amazing so if youre staying for business nearby or for Disneyland then this hotel is probably an excellent choice. If you're a tourist wanting to see the sights, then definitely look elsewhere, at least somewhere near a...

Staying at Lin Yin Hotel in Shanghai was an absolute nightmare! We found cockroaches (both alive and dead) in our room and when we asked for a change, they insultingly offered us the exact same room type. After insisting for a different room, we were finally moved, but the new room was also a disaster. We had to use a flashlight to check the room, and it was filthy—dust everywhere, a moldy fridge, a hair under one towel, and stains on another! Completely unacceptable.

The service was beyond disgraceful. The staff didn’t even bother to look at us during check-in, and the bellboy actually saw us getting out of the taxi, ignored us, and just walked back inside! It took us reporting cockroaches for them to even acknowledge our existence. And to top it off, they forgot that I had prepaid for breakfast until I reminded them.

Speaking of breakfast, do yourself a favour - don’t get it. It was a joke. We went at 8:30 AM, well within breakfast hours, and it was a wasteland—barely any food left and what remained was stone cold. I’ve never felt so ripped off.

This hotel is a disgrace, and I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. Don't trust the good reviews you see - every guest we saw on the shuttle to the airport was so mad...

Had a 20 hour layover in Shanghai, was given this hotel by a travel agent. I was able to call the hotel from the airport information desk, and a shuttle bus was there to pick me up in about 20 minutes. Though the staffs' English was not great they did everything they could to help me, Sheng even upgraded my room for free, she was very sweet :) I slept at the hotel for four hours, had a shower, and left with the 2 pm shuttle. This is my second time in this city and the first time in the more suburban parts so I was a little uncomfortable about leaving, but the hotel itself is marvelously modern, someone with a better understanding of the Chinese language would get around much better than i did

A nice and spacious hotel with WiFi facilities. A bit expensive as I was charged 998 Yen and that was the cheapest rate available. Stayed a night due to a transit flight leaving the next evening. Breakfast is available but across the street. Free drop off to the Airport. The reception staff could speak English but the staff at the restaurant could not. It would helpful if the hotel would put signs in English language in the rooms. I could not watch TV or even drink water in the room as I didn't know if it was complimentary or payable.
