Fun and friendly hostel at a decent price!

I stayed there on the weekends in December, and it was always packed with people, making it an ideal place for anyone wanting to make new friends. It's always a mix of Chinese and foreign travelers, with a pool table, guitar, comfy sofa and desks to work on in the common area. The place in general required a bit of maintenance, but the room and shower room was clean. There's a laundry / dryer facility, hot water, kitchen, drinks, and always good travel information to grab at the lobby. The staffs were very chill and friendly, and the check-in and out procedures were quick and easy. Luban road subway line 4 station is right in front, so it's easy to get to anywhere.

There are some long-term stay people, so it could be troublesome if you happen to not get along with them.

Con: I saw a rat one night in the kitchen.

Overall, strongly recommend this place to anyone for good, decently...

Myself and 7 others stayed here whilst on a weekend break in Shanghai. When we arrived, we realised that 3 of us had actually booked into the wrong Blue Mountain hostel!! Nevertheless, the reception staff were absolutely amazing. They sorted it out so we didn't have to pay the cancellation fee for changing the hostel, and made sure that we were all in the same room (even upgraded us to a private bathroom!). The room was spacious and nice, excellent for a nights stay. The location was incredible, a 2 minute walk from the nearest metro station. ||Overall, I could not fault this hostel. You get what you pay for. The place is lovely and the staff were incredibly helpful with brilliant English. I would definitely come back if I ever find myself back...

Hostel: Habe im Blue Mountain vier Nächte in einem Einzelzimmer verbracht. Das Zimmer war von der Größe okay, die Matratze gut (nicht zu hart/weich) und auf Wunsch konnte man sich das Zimmer reinigen lassen bzw. frische Handtücher bekommen. Im Hostel gibt es noch einen Aufenthaltsraum, den habe ich allerdings nicht benutzt. Er war aber immer recht voll, wenn ich vorbeilief. Die Toiletten und Duschen werden laut Hostel alle halbe Stunde gereinigt. Ob das stimmt, sei mal dahingestellt, aber zumindest war die Sauberkeit ersichtlich und ich habe auch einige Male eine Reinigungskraft sichten können. Ich hatte jedenfalls das Gefühl, dass es sauber ist. Wer nachts Ruhe möchte, sollte ggf. nach einem Zimmer fragen, welches nicht zur Straße gerichtet ist. Diese sind allerdings ohne Fenster, wenn ich das richtig sehen konnte. Mein Zimmer war zur Straße gehend, mit Oropax war alles okay, ohne wäre es mir aufgrund der dünnen Fenster und der äußeren Geräuschkulisse zu laut gewesen. Die Mitarbeiter vom Hostel sind mir nicht gerade durch ihre Freundlichkeit aufgefallen, aber sie konnten mir bei meinen Anliegen behilflich sein- und das ist die Hauptsache. ||Lage: Die Lage ist in Ordnung, das Hostel liegt zwei Minuten zu Fuß von der Metro-Station Luban Rd. entfernt. Den zentralste Standort hat es nicht, aber in einer Metropole wie Shanghai ist das andererseits auch schwierig zu definieren. Fußläufig sind typische Touri-Spots und Shopping Malls aber eher nicht zu erreichen. Mit der Metro (ich habe immer ein Day-Pass genutzt, es gibt aber auch Einzelfahrscheine) kommt man oftmals mit 1-2 Mal umsteigen und bisschen fahren recht zügig zum Ziel. In unmittelbarer Nähe des Hostels sind kleinere Restaurants und Supermärkte zu finden. ||Wer wie ich Shanghai anschauen und dabei insbesondere typische Touri-Spots besichtigen möchte, ist in diesem Hostel...
