Olaya Plaza Hotel — Hotel in AMCO, Area Metropolitana Centro Occidente

Not quite sure how to rate this place. This hotel was generally a clean, modern, comfortable hotel. Unfortunately our room (306) smelled strongly of air freshener/perfume (not unusual in some hotels). By the time we had settled in and aired out the perfume scent, we realized the bathroom smelled horribly, that was likely the reason for the excessive use of strong scents to "hide" the bad drain smell. We should have asked for another room, but suffered through the night. This room should not be used until the smell problem is solved. Otherwise, our friends had a great stay in a room across the hall, we were all served a nice breakfast, the location is near a nice town park with good bakery across the street. Also, the young woman at the front desk (day shift) was really really nice and welcoming. But points off for the hotel not dealing with a problem and foisting it off...

it's just a $2 cab ride from the bus station. Just a couple of mini marts and bakery for food in the area. We arrived 5PM in Pereira and didn't want to go up to Salento at night so we stayed here. ||||Very pleasant comfortable room, nicely decorated, modern updated bath, great bed, flat screen TV (even a few English channels), reasonable internet that worked in the room with a reasonable breakfast served by a very friendly and nice front desk staff.||||Major issue is traffic noise for the rooms on the main road. IT'S LOUD! We were very tired from the day long bus ride so with the fan in the room on high and ear plugs we somehow managed to have a fair nights sleep (much to our surprise).||||My guess is the rooms off the road are much more quiet. Lo primero que te llama la atención es la ubicación del lugar...no es seguro si andas de turista despistado, cuidado con la billetera, la cartera y el celular!!!! Más aún si es de noche.||||El precio es un intermedio, teniendo en cuenta lo que ofrece y la ubicación sobre todo.||||Las habitaciones tienen una decoración moderna, tirando a albergue transitorio, pero una vez que has suberado ese primer trago amargo, son bastante cómodas, pero muy ruidosas, las paredes son delgadas como papel, asi que se escucha absolutamente todo de todos los pisos y de todas las habitaciones.||||Incluye un pequeño minibar, en el que se puede encontrar bebidas y piqueo en caso de que lleuges a una hora un poco dificil para encontrar un lugar donde cenar.||||El desayuno es el mismo cada día y ya viene preparado: cafe con leche, arepas, huevo revuelto y jugo...a veces incorporan jamon y queso o mantequilla y mermelada. Veganos y vegetarianos, atención!||||Los baños son cómodos, pero tuve el problema de que el primer día el calefón no funcionaba y la ducha estaba rota: salía agua por todo lado, menos por la flor. el personal fue amable y trató de arreglar la situación lo mejor posible.||||La cama es un poco dura, pero bastante cómoda.
