Air conditioning in room did not work consistently all the hallways are always dark until you start to walk, they are on a sensor, however sometimes delayed. getting out of the elevator at night onto the 9th floor was pitch dark. Did not feel too safe. If you are with children this is not good. In addition, the lights are dim, not bright. the bathroom was poorly lit. When you leave your room, the air conditioning turns off. you have to wait 30 minutes when you get back for it to get to 24.75 Celsius (76.55 Fahrenheit). The room never felt cool, always kind of humid. Elevator did not have air conditioning. Humid and hot in elevators. Very uncomfortable. Pool opens at 10am. That is very late, especially if you are on a time schedule like I was. Also, pool closes on Mondays. Because of the pool schedule we were able to enjoy it only 2 times during a 7 day stay. (I traveled with my 2 sons to visit family) Breakfast is mediocre at best. Not a great selection of breakfast foods. There were 3 of us in the room (myself and my two kids) but the cleaning staff kept on leaving only 2 towels daily. very annoying. surely, they knew there were 3 people in the room. The room had 3 beds. I suggest you pay a Bit more and stay somewhere else. The price is not a good value for what you get. Had I known this was going to be our experience, I would have paid more and stayed somewhere else. just too uncomfortable, especially if you are with family. If I was alone it would have been a bit more tolerable The hotel did not have a fully functioning gym. Do not expect to get a workout in. There is a gym across the street. A maintenance man had to come up 2 times to reset the code for the safe in the room. this too was annoying because we had to wait for him to come up and finish, before we left for the day. Great location, but location does not warrant all the other in...
Read moreGreat Location. Lots of restaurants, farmacy, and markets around in walking distance. Service in general is normal, nothing special that will make an impression. The food is good, if you are looking for colombian food I recommend. Now facility... the shower doesn't drain the water. When you get room service, they drain the shower. This was a reason for us to change rooms. The other room had the same problem. The bed is hard, which is good for me. The comfort was stained and ripped. The A/C was good in both rooms, but they smell moldy. In the second room, we had problems with the door lock. It was out of battery, and they couldn't find the master key. After trying a few keys, they found the one that finally opened the door. Heads up for people who don't know like me. Every snack or drink you consume from the room will be charged extra. Overall, we didn't feel great on our stay. We won't be back...
Read moreMy stay was very good, the staff was professional and helpful. My only complaint was the imposed tax on Colombian citizens. I believe, I should be given the benefits of a foreign visitor. Colombia has forced us US citizens to have dual citizenship if you were born in Colombia, so they can penalize us with their tax laws. I’m a U.S. citizen I’ve lived in the US for 53 years. I paid the taxes because I came to Barranquilla to have a great time and I truly did, I didn’t come to argue or dispute their laws. The problem was that I decided to extend my stay at the hotel not knowing that I would have to pay the taxes again, that upset me and expressed my feelings. But the staff are there to do their jobs. When I read the fine print with booking connections it mentioned that the tax would apply if I was staying at the hotel for more than 60 days, I only 6 days maybe I totally misunderstood the...
