We’ve stayed here a minimum five times over the years. It’s really falling apart and the service has noticeably declined. This visit the thing we noticed was the disrepair of the flooring and buttons in the elevator. There’s mold in the lobby ceiling and the hallway smells of mold. They added scent boxes instead of replacing the carpet they needed to replace 3-4 years ago. Half the tiles in the pool are cracked etc. We saw at least three cockroaches. One I got a picture of was half dead kicking his legs. When I called about it they would say dale and hang up. 50/50 chance they’d send someone or they’d send them to the wrong room. One time we asked for toilet paper because the housekeeping didn’t replace it when they came. They didn’t come for 20 minutes and then sent it to the restaurant so we had to carry it through. If I asked in person I’d get dismissive faces about whatever I was asking for. The breakfast is still amazing compared to most other places we’ve stayed in the area and the only reason I didn’t give one star. The internet doesn’t work on the gym level or rooftop at all, so I could never work or write when I was watching my kid at the pool or just wanted to have a beer up there. It was really slow in the room too. Hope they fix some things. This place used to be an easy 4 or 5.

We have been here many time in the past year . However this year once we came this place is a complete mess . There is MOLD every where. Cracks across the walls that can cause a building collapse. We are changed from rooms 3 times due to mold and un sanitary conditions. We became So sick for 3 days we couldn’t enjoy our stay in Barranquilla due to ongoing virus due to in proper disinfection after other guest had left . Phone do not work . You have to constantly go down stairs and speak to them directly and all they do is roll their eyes and say you do what ever you want leave if you want to . Worst costumer service . Paid $1000.00 US dollars for a week and by far would never come back . These people then put us in an apartment 2 bed room that holds 4 people and we were a party of 7. There was no towels , Blankets , or pillows for the rooms and better yet we had to sleep on floor due to they had promised 2 extra beds and then could not accommodate us . Many many many times we spoke to management and no one did anything . Then they threaten to call the police on us. This place is un real . Avoid this place if you want a better stay !!!

Everything looks pristine until you start looking at the details and finishing touches. you can see in the corners that the painting jobs was kind off splattered, things were not glued correctly. everything is kind off rough around the edges.

Customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Hotel chain states that customer service is the most important thing—it is not. This lack of service was made evident at the start with Sergio at the front desk, who was not only sassy, but absolutely useless from a customer service standpoint. When plans changed and we needed to check out earlier, he proceeded to be unhelpful and tell me he could only honor the reservation for its entire duration. After discussing how often I had stayed at the GHL branded hotels and how modifying the reservation had never been an issue in the past, he went behind a closed door and came back offering a “great” solution: modifying my reservation to cut it from 9 days to 3 days for a higher price (and had modified it already without discussing any pricing with me. I kid you not when I say I spent 1 hour checking in trying to find a solution for both parties. Ultimately, Sergio told me the price wasn’t going to change and I would have to take it or leave it. The bed was incredibly springy and hard. Not comfortable. Room was standard. Not luxurious as website makes it out to be. One day for breakfast, I checked on their app which stated that breakfast ended at 10:30 am, and confirmed with an employee in the hallway at 10:05 am that breakfast went until 10:30 am, and then the lady at the breakfast location gave me a sassy attitude telling me that breakfast was over at 10 am and I could grab from what was left, but for my information it was over at 10 am. I tried to call the front desk using the phone in room to no avail over 5 times. When checking out, I called using the phone to have a bellboy come help with the bags, and no answer. I went to find help from the cleaning staff, who stated they had called down for me. No one came. I ended up going downstairs and asking Rafael at the front desk, who stated he would send someone immediately, but did not. I had to ask again five minutes after talking with him about my issues and he finally sent someone. During check out, I expressed the lack of service and the horrible experience to Rafael, who stated he recognized me from previous stays at the other hotel around the corner, GHL Collection. He stated he would try to help, went behind closed door and “spoke to someone” who told him that since Sergio and I had come to an agreement, there was nothing that could be done. When I asked to speak to the manager, he stated he would call him over and I waited over 15-20 minutes to no avail (when he was around the corner at the other hotel, literally across the street). When I asked for the general manager’s name, Rafael would not give it to me, stating he could not make that information public. As if it wasn’t the general manager’s job to address issues? He would only offer me the reservations manager’s name. I cannot express enough my disgust at the lack of service and care from these team members and their inability to help in any way. Absolutely ridiculous. It appears they may be faking other reviews considering the comments if you really take the time to read them. Coming from customer service background my whole life and being a manager myself, it is extremely hard to write negative reviews. However, I am taking the time to do so because I cannot at all recommend staying here. In fact, you should stay away from this hotel at all costs. It turns out the hotel manager was at the pool the one day I was up there and I didn’t want to ruin her day letting her know the experience I had had, hoping someone on the team would be able to resolve. I should have just approached her in that moment. I’m ashamed to say this kind of hosting can occur in the city in which I was born. Do not stay here.

P.S. Room also smelled heavily of mold at all times. They don’t let you leave the AC on, as you have to remove the card to the room which turns on all power. They only give you one key, as well.

If you look at the “management responses,” you will see it’s a joke. They will talk about improving for years, but...

I had a room block at this hotel for my wedding, with nearly 100 guests staying here. After spending almost a year coordinating directly with hotel staff, I expected a seamless experience. Unfortunately, everything fell apart just three weeks before the big day.

At that point, I discovered that none of the reservations had been handled correctly. A completely different staff member had to take over to fix the chaos, and while he was incredibly helpful and professional (truly a saving grace), it was an impossible situation. He did his best to clean up someone else's mess someone who, shockingly, was promoted despite the total mismanagement of our event.

The hotel itself was in poor condition. Rooms were dirty, several had mold, and everything felt run-down and neglected. Service from the administrative side was disorganized and inattentive. On our first night, we were told we couldn't get drinking water because "reception was closed." The second night, we asked to sit on the rooftop, no music, no service needed, just a safe place to gather. We were told no, and had to stay in the outdoor lobby area. The very next day, someone was robbed at gunpoint in that same spot, and shots were fired.

To make matters worse, we were offered zero benefits or hospitality perks as the wedding couple. No welcome bag, no packet, no discount, nothing. After administration realized the scale of our party’s contribution to their business (obviously several thousand dollars), they suddenly made a last-ditch effort to accommodate us and "open up the space." But by that point, the damage was done — most of our guests were already disappointed or upset by their experience.

The only positive I can share is the attitude of the staff (with the exception of one or two individuals) and an amazing cook. Most were incredibly kind, apologetic, and did everything they could to try to make things right. Their professionalism did not go unnoticed, and I genuinely appreciated their efforts but the problems ran far deeper than they could fix.

In the end, I would not recommend this hotel for any group event, let alone a wedding. The lack of preparation, poor communication, unsafe environment, and refusal to offer any form of compensation or welcome for a large wedding party is unacceptable. The staff did their best, but the administration failed on nearly every front.

Pros: Rooms are spacious, rooftop pool is cute, hotel looks modern. Drinks and food are decent.

Cons: 1st day we arrived a few hours before their allowed 3pm check in time. We understood early check in wasnt available but we decided to start our day anyway and check in later. I requested to borrow a clothes iron (which would've been available in my room a few hours later at 3pm check in time) since what I needed to change into was wrinkled from being in my suitcase and they said I could only pay for laundry service to have someone else iron my 1 piece of clothing but I couldn't simply borrow an iron. Small request but big problem somehow.

When we check in we notice that towels and toilet paper are missing from our room so we see an employee in the hallway with towels in his hands and let him know but instead of grabbing these few items for us he asks us to call the front desk which took forever to answer and at least 2 hours to get us what we were missing.

The next night we were at the restaurant, sat and waited over 20 min but noone asked if we needed anything. We then sat directly at the bar hoping to get someone's attention and still nothing. Finally we went out of our way and stopped a waiter, asked for drinks only for him to come back 5 minutes later and say he wasn't able to serve us because the bar just closed. We were clearly there well before closing and would've gotten our drinks in if someone would've asked for our order as they should.

The next morning we head to the free breakfast buffet and I grab a plate with 2 eggs and some fruits to consume in my room because I had some work to finish. As I'm walking out I'm told I can't take food to my room unless I pay. At this point I'm very irritated with the treatment ive been receiving and just left my plate behind.

AC in rooms arent consistent, room would suddenly be cold and then get hot throughout the day/night. Also comforter/sheets were stained

No AC in any of the main areas. If it's on it definetely doesn't feel like it and Barranquilla is very hot

You're never greeted even as you walk in/out of the hotel making you feel unwelcome your entire stay. They don't know anything about hospitality and unnecesarrily find any way to inconvenience their customers.
